bumps

A couple of weeks ago, I had three bumps on the outside of my vagina all in different places. They were all painless and i didnt notice them until I looked down there. they dissapeared within a couple of days . about two weeks later, i had one bump but this time it was on the inside of the lips of my vagina. i didnt notice that one either until i accidentaly brushed against it while bathing. My glands have been swollen but the doctor said it was because of a sinus infection. could this be herpes?

They look like fluid fllled blisters.  They can look like anything.  Focilutis is commonly mistaken for herpes and herpes is commonly mistaken for it.  It is best to talk to your provider if you have symptoms.  You having coldsores as a child makes it highly unlikely that you have HSV-1 genitially.

if you are really concerned, repeat your hsv2 igg 3 or 4 months after the encounter.

i just realized that it has only been about 6 or 7 weeks since my last sexual encounter not 8 or 9.
are my test results for my HSV 2(0.91) a high negative?
do i need to test again in a few more weeks?

yes indeed that's why your hsv1 is +!  you already know where your hsv1 is.

be seen the next time you have symptoms. if they suspect herpes, they can do a lesion culture to look for hsv2.

you aren't likely to contract hsv1 genitally if you have it orally.

i got tested about 8 or 9 weeks after my last sexual encounter.
Do i need to retest?

and ive gotten cold sores ever since i was a little kid..is this why my HSV 1 came up positive?
and is it possible to have HSV 1 and 2 at the same time?
and is it possible for hsv 1 to affect my genital and mouth areas at the same time?

yes you can have hsv1 genitally.

your hsv2 is negative.

how long prior to your testing had you last had sex?

best thing to do is to be seen again the next time you have symptoms at this point. if they feel that they look like herpes, they can do a lesion culture. odds are if they don't itch all the time and/or hurt that they aren't due to herpes though.

what is your hsv2 igg?

your combined hsv1/2 result of 39.1 is useless. it is a non-specific test and most adults will test + on it.

your hsv1 igg is +.

you posted the reference ranges and not your actual results. I don't need the reference ranges - just your results - e.g. hsv1 igg 5.9 and hsv2 igg .23 or whatever they are. you did not post that info.

I got tested for herpes and im not sure of how to read my results.
they read:
HSV I/II IgG
Negative 1.0

then it says
HSV 1 IgG
Negative 1.09

The doctor said that i am positive but i dont understand if i am positive for HSV 1 or 2.. i also dont understand why it says negative.

they aren't painless for most folks- they at least itch if nothing else for most folks.

best thing to do is to be seen and get a proper exam.

make sure they also test you for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections too. also discuss if you need any std testing done too.
