I hope this helps you. I had the same symptoms after unprotected vaginal sex.  I also head a burning sensation my penis. I have never had a visible outbreak.  I have been test serologically four months after and six months after.  Both negative.  I don't know the nature of the tests.  I was simple told I was negative.  I am going to question my doctor next week.  I will keep everyone informed.

I attributed the burning sensation to herpes due to the timing and the penile discomfort.  As well as the leg and buttocks pain which I heard many suffer from with  primary infection.  I have never had a cold sore, or any previous problems down stairs.

I had a lot of discomfort and herpes i feel would be an easy answer.  But it is possible that the initial penile discomfort was a yeast infection and the subsequent discomfort was a reaction to over use of the antifungal cream and recovery of very sensitive skin.  The leg pain may have been bilateral nerve impingement or quite simply muscle or tendon strain.  More likely tendon as it took months to heal and they still feel weird.

That's my story, if it's similar to yours it might give you some hope.

Can you elaborate a little more on your exposure and why the heck you assume a burning sensation on your legs could be attributed to herpes. It could be many things man.

What's your situation? Have a risky encounter? Provide details so we can tell you if you're at risk.
