And tries to make everything her fault.even though she one great person/mother.she very worried. Thank you I will not ask any further questions
Hi terri I understand that you were done with my post.but this is in regards to my friends 7 yr old daughter.her mother(my friend)has had the same non stop sores in her mouth as me.sense she had them swabbed july27.and again a week ago(hsv1)now her little girl has had sores in her mouth(on her gums).her gums are all red and sore.her mother has just been kissing her on the cheek and forhead.but she's not 100% sure she hasn't pecked her on the lipps a couple of times.her ex's mother gets cold sores on the lipps.could this have been grandma.instead of my friend.the reason I ask is she feels very bad about it.and her ex is one of the biggest. Freaks around
Seeing as my friend is getting sores in her mouth same as mine.and hadn't kissed any one else in 2yrs.I don't see how it can't be hsv.I could live with it being mis typed.at least then I would know I haven't given it to her below the waist to.I will have her take another igg and if she's neg for hsv2 that would make this whole mess much better.if I ever figure it out I will re post
I'm thinking that the most likely explanation is that 1) the PCR was mistyped somehow - that you actually had HSV 1 orally rather than HSV 2 or 2) that somehow the lab got your sample mixed up with someone else's sample and that what is happening in your mouth is not herpes at all. The later would make more sense since your symptoms are continuous without relief from antiviral medicine.
This will be my last post on this thread, as we have 25 now!
Terri
also do you have any thoughts on the russian med. vitraherpavac? does it work on interoral sores?Ive tryed acyclavir and famvir lots of both.along with an antiviral mouthwash.nothing touches this stuff.today is 9months sense the sores started.I have not gone longer then 2weeks without sore.most of the time there constant.thanks
hello Terri-as you know my western blot came back neg.for hsv2.after getting the w.b- I went and got a pcr done on one of my sores.it came back neg.it was 2days after it had first shown up.but it was deep /angry looking when it was swabbed.(might have been a canker sore but I dont ever remeber having them before)at this point Im just trying to figure out how the gal I kissed.who hasnt kissed anyone sense her ex husband 2yrs ago.and had a neg.igg for hsv1 and 2 7weeks after we kissed.is now getting sores just like mine and when swabbed were hsv1.Im going to go see an I.D dr.what i would like to know is could my sores be a reccurence of the hsv1 ive had sense a child.thatjust happened to go in my mouth instead of my lip?many of my sores come back in the same spot.and I passed this on to my friend.so it has to be hsv one way or another correct? thanks four help
I have been thinking this through(a lot)seems to me it can only be 1 of three things.1-my pcr was wrong my friends was right(I so hope so)2 I had both hsv1 and hsv2.oral going on at the same time and was neg for hsv2 at 3.5 months(that's gotta be almost impossible right?3my pcr was right and hers was wrong.(she was neg for both at 7weeks.)have you ever seen a reccurence of hsv1 in the mouth not on the lipp?I know my western blots going to answer this stuff.just twisted up a bit.and so hopeful my pcr was wrong. Thanks
It continues to get stranger.but what looks like in a good way.my friends pcr came back pos.hsv1.which to me means we both have a chance of not having it below the waist.and she joins the hsv1oral world.not ideal but a better option.so I guess we will see what the wester blot says in a few weeks.
Than you. That makes us both feel better.she will not share lip products anymore.and stick to pecks on the cheeks.just to be safe.probably a better practice anyway.
No, it doesn't change my answer. It takes a much more open mouthed kiss to transmit HSV, without a cold sore present.
terri
I think it was a peck on the lipps.does that change your answer?I don't know if she shared lip products that day.or earlier in the week.what a freaken nightmare this has become!
They are NOT at risk. A peck on the check does not put them at risk. I advise people who have oral herpes, regardless of type, not to share lip products.
Terri
the gal i was with(and kissed)about 10 weeks ago.had what we hoped was a canker sore last week.today she developed another sore inside the other cheek.she also has pain on the roof of mouth behind teeth.as well as tingeling on inside of lower lipp.im meeting her at e.r to get it swabbed.she gave her kids a peck on the lipps when she dropped them off at school.are they at risk now?sharing chapstick/lipgloss? thank you
I just went ahead with the w.b on tues the 19th.I had been of the meds.for 4.5 days.Im just planning on being pos.for hsv2.if it comes back neg.I always have a mouth full of sores.I can go get another pcr if I care to.but im worn out with the whole mess.I can make sure I dont infect anyone else by just not having contact.and thats really all that matters to me right now. thanks
Stop for the western blot.
Terri
Stay with tne anti virals(thet don't seem to be helping anyway)or stop for the western blot?
I'm sorry, but I've not seen HSV 2 behave in the mouth in this way before, no.
Yes, I would expect you to be positive now if you are going to become positive.
Terri
thankyou.I will get the western blot.Im on the famvir because i went through 2 scripts of acyclovir and it didnt help.im on the famvir now and my mouth is broken out.this stuff is crazy.it just keeps ping ponging around in my mouth.have you every seen it act like this?(Im hetro and have had 2 neg.hiv tests.i guess thing could be tougher for sure)should i stop the famvir before I test?by the time I test it will have been 8months of this.If im every going show pos.I would by now correct?thanks again I hope you and yours are doing well.
Yes, I would stick with getting the western blot. It is interesting that you were on Famvir when you had your PCR - guess it isn't working all that well for you. I prefer valacyclovir or acyclovir myself. I think your preference should be the western blot since no symptoms need to be present for that test to be done.
Terri
Was this a bad question?stick with the western blot?niether?
Also I'm on famvir and was the last time I had a pcr.is this a problem?
Thanks for the reply.the gal I've been with took a blood test at 7weeks since the last time we were together and was neg.I know and let her know that it was to soon.but it sure is a lot better than option b.as far for myself.I've just kind of accepted I'm pos.for hsv2 above/below the waist.if she's ok I will feel so much better about all of this.I was thinking as long as the sores in my mouth are almost always present.(lucky me)should I just go get another pcr.and then just go with that result.and move on?
I don't think your previous partner needs to worry about her children. That would be very unlikely,
Terri
