casual contact

I was with a friend the other day that was recently got diagnosed with genital herpes. we went out drinking and she was touching my face, and getting up close and personal with me, not in a sexual manner though. we shared a cigarette and shared a few drinks too.

I was surprised and shocked to discover that they rarely wash their hands after going to the bathroom.

What is the risk of transmission, and should i be concerned with this for sure contact with herpes?

No risk. You can be cautious if you like but you will not get hsv this way.
