cold sore on lip, is due to sharing or triggered.

Hey guys just wanted to know some stuff, this maybe the 2nd time in my life I've had a cold sore, So need some advice.

Yesterday it was Eid so was helping my friends with their sheesha lounge, and I was smoking Numerous Sheesha/hookah pipes. And that night I realised I had a cold sore suddenly. I suffered from a cold sore before so obviously I can't catch it again(it just lies dormant).

So could it be due to being fatigue(given the fact I only had 3 hours sleep), and temperatures soring over 30c in London(but was hotter in the lounge due to it being packed) and lack water because I was drinking a lot fizzy drinks that night. Could that be a reason why I have an outbreak could that be a trigger??? I can't imagine having an outbreak due to sharing Hookah pipes or cigarettes that night!!! And plus I didn't feel a tingling or painful sensation on my lips before it appeared. Could it have been triggered due to my fatiguness etc??? I dunno why but I think you can't end up with a cold sore almost instantly or in a matter of hours of sharing pipes etc...

So please share, because I can't have an outbreak from sharing etc because I've already got the cold sore virus from a young age. And even if I was to catch it, it can't have appeared on the same day or a few hours????

Thank you grace really appriciate it :). I'm just a worried well as they call it, I've got a phobia with blood born viruses. The swollen glands only appeared since I've got the cold sore so In Shaa Allah it must be from the cold sore :). You seem to have good knowledge in herpese, do you work in the medical field???

you can have either type in either place.

That's the thing first time I had a cold sore was when I was 16 years old and I had swollen glands then. This is the secound time in my life. So I'm assumeing its because of that. It can't be from any STD related because I haven't had sex for 3 years due to phobia and had my self checked recently. So I think it may be from the Cold sore :)...

I'm just glad it isn't type 2 herpes, but someone can get type 1 on their genitals or is it just type 2???

could be but more likely because something else is going on. typically they don't swell with recurrences. just being within 3 feet of others and breathing as well as touching many surfaces is an easy way for many non-herpes related viruses to be picked up and even though it's not the typical cold and flu season, still plenty of germs going around :(

everything you've asked about can add up to wearing you down to trigger a cold sore. even the heat of a pipe on your lip can be enough "trauma" to trigger one to reoccur.   sunlight is also a trigger so not unusual to get one after being out in the sun enjoying yourself in nice weather too.

you didn't catch oral herpes again as you already are aware of.
