did she cheat on me?

Thanks for reading/assisting. I appreciate it.

Here we go:

10.9.08: developed a pain during urination.
10.11.08: developed (1) (white head / pimple) at the urethral opening (tip). Painful to the touch and when I urinate.

Thought it was a random infection and soaked in baking soda / salt. It disappeared after (4) days.

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend (2) weeks prior to my 10.9.08 episode. She was a virgin (there was proof, but I will spare the details) prior to me. The first time we had intercourse was approx. 2-3 years ago.

-She recently tested positive for HSV-2 or Genital Herpes… From what I understand, they swabbed her during a pap smear. Although she never experiencing any symptoms resembling herpes. Question: From what the physician told me “YOU WILL KNOW IF SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT DOWN THERE” can the swab still prove positive when you are not experiencing an episode?-

Here is the catch:

I receive my test results today and they are as follows:

HSV 1 and 2 – Specific Ab, IgG

HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec = <0.91 (negative?)
HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec = <0.91 (negative?)

BUT:

HSV, IgM ½ Combination = 3.22 (High)

I think this test was performed by ViroMed but the report was generated by LabCorp.

She is the only person I been with since 3 years back.

Gosh, you could have had this years ago and just now it's rearing its ugly head.  Either way the important thing is you both have it now so you both will need to learn how to deal with it.  You both certainly don't want to spread it to anyone else.  Good luck, it's confusing and sad, but there are remedies some of us take which help with breakouts.  And please remember, it is very contagious, even from the place you have it to the mouth.

Best of luck to both of you.
