do I really have herpes n should I get fully tested?

About 2wks. Recieved n gave oral sex. A few days later I got a little burning after urinating I thought it might have been a urinary tract infection or bacterial infection( this is after months of no sex). Then I thought maybe while he had his hands down there he might  have scratched me or ssomething. I went to my dr n she looked.at me genital area n said I have herpes.n gave me medication no test was done or anything. I am in.denial.about this n I need serious help because I cant sleep. I told.him I.was at the dr because I have an infecton n immediately he was like. U sure u dont.have something sometimes men have things n dont.say. then he said with his job he gets tested regularly( blood n everything) I am very confused hurt  afraid every emotion you can think of. Does a regular dr visit reveals herpes n if I really have this could.he have given it.to me. I wanna have kids n everything with this person n am all.confused.about this whole thing. Could my dr have mistaken what I have? Please please.help me I dont.know what to do

Btw, ur from United States or in Asia? I know in some Asian countries, they do require testing of any contagious diseases for hotel type of service industry.  My friend had to test for herpes and that's when he found out he was neg but his partner was pos.

Ty for getting back to me. I am really confused n paranoid over this. I had mutual oral on the 8th of june ( forgot to say that he also fingured me a little thats y I thought I got cut or something) I was abit sore after.the next day my menstrual cycle started during that time I felt a little burning only when I urinate( theres still a little burning but not on the cut). The following week after my cycle I had jelly like discharge which I thought might have been a bacterial infection caused by him putting his finger in me. I also started amoxicillin the following Wednesday. I went to see my dr 4 days ago (friday) and the system was down in the clinic so she took a quick look. Its a small room  she didn't have that extra light on she searched my genital n said just what I thought herpes my heart sank. I mean how can u be so sure. I decided to look myself when I got home n I saw a little sore  looks more like a cut. Just 1 not a few lesions. I have been taking the medication that she gave me since friday . I am so afraid I ended up putting hand sanitizer on my lips. Its burning now n because of what she told me am thinking the worst.

You can contract herpes from receiving oral sex, yes.  But your diagnosis is completely inadequate.  You don't really know if you have herpes and you don't know what type, which is very important.  How long ago was all of this?  More than a week?  Do you still have lesions?  Are you still taking the herpes medicine?

No one gets tested for herpes through their work so even if he gets blood tests, he isn't getting tested for herpes at his work site.

What you need is a swab test from the lesions with typing, type 1 or type 2.  It may well be too late for that but at a minimum, I think you should get a baseline herpes antibody test, IgG only, now.  If this was only two weeks ago, the test may be the only useful thing to determine what you do or do not have, and then it can be compared to a test that is run in a few months.  You can order your own antibody test online if your doctor won't do it.  Frankly, I think your doctor really missed the boat here on his handling of your case.  The CDC says in its STD treatment guidelines that every herpes diagnosis needs to be confirmed by a lab test WITH typing.

Please let me know other questions you might have.
