doctors think its herpes, could it be something else?

Okay so i have been with my current boyfriend for almost a year. We have only been with each other but before we met we both have had 2 other sexual partners. i used a condem with one of the guys, but the other guy i was in a relationship with for 3 years so we didnt use condems. He was unfaithful to me with a couple different women. He nevr showed any signs of ever having anything and neither have i, Now it has been over a year since the LAST time i was intimate with him and four years since i began having sex with him. Now after a year of having sex many times a day with my new boyfriend, he suddenly broke out in a huge rash. On his actual oenis there are only 2 small bumps, blister like, but most of the bumps are under his pubic hair, they blistered a little bit as well, and then also on the side of his penis there are some red bumps, but these ones look more like spider bites or something, very different from the others. I have never shown any symptoms of having anything and i was just recently tested negative for aids, goneriah, chlamydia, etc. After he broke out and we had sex, i got two small bumos on the side of my vagina, I thought they were just razor cuts because i didint even notice them, he did. They do not itch or burn in any way. There is no fluids or anything, just small red bunps. It has been 2 days, and they are almost gone. I havent used any medication or anything. The doctors said that they think my boyfriend has herpies but i dont have any signs of it but since i have been exposed they are treating us both. I find it very hard to believe that we really have herpies when we both have only been with 2 other people, and i am trying to think of anything else that this might sound like it could be. If it is in fact herpies, then why is it that i dont have any problems, but he is having this much of a problem so suddenly. thanks.

we don't look at pictures here. why not is explained in our read before posting post on theforum. also medhelp's policy is no pictures of the genital area - they will be removed if you don't remove them yourself.

could your bf have herpes since before you and never knew it? indeed he could've.   he'll need to pursue more testing for himself to get better answers.

Hi, my boyfriend has a horrible rash on his groin. doctors all said herpes...i just got tested blood work igm and igg are both negative...ALL CULTURES ARE NEGATIVE. i do not have herpes or any other STD, what else could he have? it looks very similar to herpes and symptoms are all the same but we have had sex a million times in the last year and neither of us have cheated or been with anyone else. Could he have had herpes this whole year and i just got lucky and didnt catch it? i really doubt that but i just dont know what else it could be. any information would be helpful. i am confident that it isnt herpes, but he is freaking out. thanks so much.
