Burning Feeling AROUND Vagina

Recently I was with a new sexual partner and we didn't use a condom. I'm not feeling great about that decision, especially because I've had this burning sensation around my vagina since then. It's more actually around my panty line. There are no sores, rash or anything down there and the burning sensation is mild. I also just had my period, though I don't know if there's any correlation between those events. We had sex a week ago.

Is it possible I contracted genital herpes?

All advice appreciated.

not likely this is due to herpes.

since you had unprotected sex, you can follow up with proper testing at the proper times. you can test for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich any time after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

many things can cause irritation. following up on your testing at the proper times is the best course of action to cover your bases and protect your future fertility.

Thanks for your response. After five days the burning has essentially gone away except for one area. I still have a sort of irritated feeling on the top right of my vagina. Not in the lips but on the labium magus, the outter area surrounding the lips. The irritation is just in this one spot but I don't see anything. I've checked everyday for five days and nothing has appeared. It's not a serious irritation either. I'm going to the doctor soon, but do you think that could be anything or just my imagination?
