hard bump?

I have a bump that came up on my right labia majora. Over the past 7 years I have had one bump come up about once a year or so. They don't blister, or ulcerate, but I have had one that seemed to scab. My exhusband had an affair, but I was tested for STD's at that time (8 years ago). I have been sexually active the last 7 years, but in monogamous relationships. So to this bump that came up last Thursday. It was a hard bump, but it was sensitive. I took a bath with a half cup of bleach in it, thinking it was something infectious. It was tender so I started looking at possibilities. The only thing online is herpes. Anyway, on Friday it filled with fluid and it burst. It then was just a hard bump. It is a hard bump that is sensitive if I touch it, but it's more of a nuisance and a scare. I'm going to my doctor Wednesday where I will ask for a swab and hsv type testing. I know I have hsv 1 (oral) so I have to have type testing. Is there anything other than herpes that this bump could be?

this doesn't sound like it's herpes related actually. Unfortunately until you had a chance to be seen, it was too late for a lesion culture to be helpful.

to properly cover your bases, you should repeat full std testing and make sure that it includes herpes igg blood testing. If you haven't had full testing in 8 years. typically herpes testing isn't included in std testing so you and your current partner might never have had it done before and it's just best to cover your bases.

If this should occur again, a dermatologist would probably be most helpful. Sometimes hair follicles get clogged or infected and there are other dermatological conditions that can cause these sorts of symptoms.

I hear what you're saying and thank you. I didn't have hsv 1 until the last two years so it couldn't have helped against hsv 2. Also I didn't have any of this when I had my last child 18 years ago. The bump is almost gone. I can palpate it, it feels like a piece of grain. You say I would know but my fear is so many don't know. The ONLY thing that set me off thinking it was herpes, was the blister it formed last Friday. Yet, it never ulcerated or oozed, or made a crater, and was always a hard bump.

You would know if it was herpes. After pregnancy they would more than likely give antibiotics so it clears. I have herpes but my ex whom I got it from use to get boils his mother (a nurse ) told him to use hot rag for relief, I wouldn't worry about it. From what I have read though they say when you have hsv 1 the body builds against his 2 making the percentage of contracting it a lot lower

Thank you for your reply,
I did that Thursday night when it came up. It did give me some relief, but on Friday it had a blister or head that came up fast and popped within the hours without me doing anything. Then now it's just a hard bump. It kind of looks like it has a head maybe deep. It just messed with it. It's hard and round, an doesn't hurt. I hate the thought that I can have herpes. I know everyone does. I know the virus is not a death sentence and mostly it's stigma.
