I am a male and i was exposed to sexual contact with another male about 2 months ago. It was primarily just fondling and oral but no anal.A week later i notice consistent muscle twitching all over my body as well as joint pain.He told me that he didnt have anything but after a week i started to notice weird symptoms. i urged him to get another STD test . While he was getting his test done, i had my done about 3 weeks after exposure; all stds and hsv 1/2 IGG and IGM all came back negative. about a week after that i started to notice swollen lymph nodes on my groin and started to feel random inconsistent stings in my genitals but still no sores or lesions. He then got his results back and he came out positive for HSV 1. About 2 weeks after that i had another full STD test a long with HSV 1/2 IGM, and CBC, which all came back negative and normal. Its been 2 months and still i have not seen any lesions or sores and no pain while urinating but still to this day i experience random inconsistent stings and chronic non-stop twitching and joint pains.He did not have any sores on his mouth or genitals when i saw him. Could i have still contracted herpes or could it just be a virus even though these are not common symptoms ?
i apologize Life360. I dont know what type but I feel like I have genital herpes because of random stinging sensations that go on and off in the genital region, random body aches, and swollen lymph nodes.They all kinda add up to herpes from what I've been reading.Even though both IGM and IGG test came back negative.
Your really getting carried away with this and need to calm down. People can have mulitple sexual direct exposure to fresh herpes sores and still not contract it. What is the type of herpes your worried about, hsv2 oral? If so dont!!
OK life thank you. My only other issue is if hypothetically if the results were to come back positive what should i say to my girlfriend. This situation was weird because im away at school and i decided to fool around with a guy. My girlfriend and i havent had sex since exposure and idk if i can possibly live with myself if i gave it to her.I told her that I'm scared that i may have gotten something from the toilet seat and told her that i had all sorts of tests that came back negative and she believed me and thinks that i don't have herpes because its not a common exposure.Any suggestions if these test were to come back positive, what do i say ? and what can i do to sustain a relationship? or should i never have a relationship again because i have a life long disease?
ok unfortunately i never test positive for HSV1. how rare is it for someone to not have an out break after exposure?
If he has hsv2 genital any you gave him oral sex and he did not have any genital sores on his shaft at the time, your risk would be as close to zero in contacting it oral. Hsv2 oral is not common at all as prefers the genital area. On the contray, he would be more at risk for contracting hsv1 gential from you giving him oral.
Ok that makes sense. So your saying that body aches would stay there for a while before an outbreak and subside after the outbreak if i had something ? and if someone had hsv 2 would and oral was given to them would it come back is hsv 2 on lips or hsv 1?
Symptoms like your mentioning by coming and going would not appear as herpes related at all.
Ok I will test again ...Do these symptoms ever subside from after exposure even with no outbreak? I have been experiencing body aches and stings unfortunately that go away in like minutes (usually joints)
Yes it does but not excessively, tests shows 9-18% of the days evaluated which is not so much to be overly concerned about esp from a one time affair Also hsv1 prefers the oral area more the the genital.
When we talk about first time symptoms, its mostly similar to a cold virus with body aches and fever not twitching. But if you still concerned then have a test again at the 8 week mark as an indicator.

OK thanks but ...my only issue is that couldn't the virus shed ? And what do you think my symptoms indicate ?
Hi, with the oral, if he did not have any lip sores at the time the risk of contacting herpes would be close to zero. The same with genital sores and fondling. With the genital, there would need to be direct rubbing contact to be at risk.
