Hi, Grace. Three month post exposure test results were as follows: Hsv1 Igg = 0.30 and Hsv2 Igg = 0.09.
still far too early for testing to be accurate. igm testing shouldn't be a part of the testing either.
Hi Grace. Just following up with my latest test results. At 39 days post exposure I went in for another blood test, as you pointed out earlier that four days was way to early. Everything was negative except Igm, but my Igm was over on the first test as well (post4 day exposure). My Igg HSV1 was 0.33 and my Igg HSV2 was 0.21.
antibiotics make you more prone to fungal infections more so than bacterial skin infections. usually folliculitis clears up with antimicrobial soaps but if yours doesn't in a week or two, seek out a 2nd opinion elsewhere.
Grace, went back to the doctor because right at 4 weeks I developed a rash in my groin. The rash doesn't look anything like herpes, but I was freaking out again. The doctor thinks it is folliculitis. I had one small pimple in the hair follicle, but he thought it was too small to harvest for a culture/sample. He didn't want to put me on anymore antibiotics because I've already been on two separate courses. Does this sound like a correct prognosis? Also I read if have been on antibiotics for a while, you are more susceptible to this condition. Since I had two weeks (azithromycin/suprax then bactrim) does that put me at a higher risk for other skin conditions? Thanks for all your help, red
perhaps tell her you had a routine yearly exam and they did blood testing and it was found then?
Thanks, Grace. I also plan on following up with the hep c. Waiting for the right time to tell the wife. Maybe finding out about the hep c is the silver lining from this whole experience. I certainly learned a big lesson here. Psychological effects are still wearing on me.
it's not likely you contracted genital herpes from oral sex if you haven't had obvious symptoms by now.
It's been 4 weeks since exposure and I have no visible symptoms yet.
be sure to talk to her about it so that she can get tested herself and you can both make educated decisions about what precautions to take if she is negative.
No I haven't told her of the hep c virus yet. But I did tell her of my I.V. drug usage (one time) before we were married.
you had the wrong testing done then if it wasn't type specific. At this point you'll need to repeat your testing with a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your actual status is.
have you informed your wife that you were hep c +? Has she been tested?
They didn't,t distinguish between hsv1 and hsv2. Only thing that came back positive was hep c.
it doesn't matter if you ejaculate or not as far as std risk. the risk is from the sex act itself.
if you have a regular partner, you should only be having protected sexual contact with others to protect your partner! It will save you a lot of worrying as well as having to test frequently.
What igg was +? Hsv1, hsv2 or didn't it differentiate between the 2?
testing for std's 4 days after oral sex was far too early. did anything come back + in your testing?
grace
Sorry, I got my IGG and IGM backwards. my IGM (short term was 1.09). My IGG was barely detectable. Thanks
