unfortunately for us gals, middle age comes with some changes in the genital area. dryness and changing hormones can cause many issues as well as infections too. be seen every time you have genital symptoms for an exam. make sure that they test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too. also due to the rough economy, companies constantly change ingredients in our toilet paper, soaps, detergent , pads etc. sometimes it's trial and error figuring out what is going on.
Thank you for your reply. I am realizing that I am panic stricken and not thinking rationally. Its just so stressful and difficult to sort this out. I was blood tested back in April and again in November. I am negative for hsv2 antibodies and positive for hsv1. From what I have read, its not likely to have ghsv1 after having the oral hsv1 for so long. and the hsv2 is negative so does this mean maybe its something other than herpes???maybe a bacterial infection? I am neg for syphillis too. Tired of crying and wondering.
you aren't likely at all to have contracted hsv1 genitally after a well established oral infection.
what testing have you had done so far? did they blood test previously for herpes?
you don't have to be worried about transmitting a genital herpes infection to a child. we NEVER have the kind of contact it takes to transmit it. the virus is easily killed with soap and water too so no reason to worry after you've washed your hands.
since you have hsv1 orally, http://www.ashastd.org/std-sti-works/Herpes/oral-herpes.html has terrific info on how to minimize the risk to young children if you haven't read it already.
