herpes test results

I don't understand what my test result means so could someone please help me.

The results say Herpes I and II, IgG    44.3 H

I know I have cold sores anfd I have one at least once a month but does my test results mean I have genital herpes too?

sounds like your provider just doesn't understand the testing they are ordering ( which is the wrong testing anyways ).

you need to repeat your test with a type specific herpes igg blood test and go from there.

I know my profile says I'm a guy but I just couldn't figure out how to change my gender. I went into the doctor's for a pap and she asked if i wanted a std test ran too. I said yes because I hadn't been tested since 2010.

Are these the same results they send to the office because my doctor told me I tested positive for both?

Unfortunately the testing you had done was incorrect; you had a combined test. It came back positive which makes sense: you get cold sores so you already know you have herpes.

You would want an IgG type specific blood test for herpes, that gives you values for both HSV1 and HSV2, separately.

What made you get tested?
