herpetic infection on right hip

A few times a year I get a herpes type outbreak on my right hip, just at the top of my thigh.  It starts with a soreness in my hip joint and an ache in my leg.  The skin becomes tender to touch, then within a day, I have a quarter size red splotch.  If not treated with acyclovir immediately, the splotch opens to blisters.  It has never become larger than the quarter-size area. Ice packs relieve the pain.  I had herpes of the right eye about 25 years ago, and used to get many cold sores.  I also experienced an outbreak of genital herpes, although now the only place I get any rash at all is on the hip area.  My question - My doctors in the past never diagnosed any of this as either type 1 or type 2 herpes.  When I asked a few years back, I was the hip outbreak was just a manifestation of the virus in the nerve on the right side of my body.  I am only concerned for health reasons in the future.  I am very healthy and "kick" this within a day or two.  What can happen in the future?  Would my records show type 1 or 2, or do I have to request a blood test.  Is this a common thing?

spider bites and herpes are 2 different things.  A spider bite can't give you herpes.

You are just as contagious as someone who has herpes ob's on their actual genitals. has your partner been tested to know their own status?

Have you read the free herpes handbook yet? google it and it comes right up.

I have been dignosed with Herpes 2 I have never had a genital outbreak, However just before these reoccurrign breakouts on my right buttocks/hip I had a spider bite on my neck. I went to the doctor and it was not shingles adn indeed a spider bite according to the doctor Another firend of mine has also had a spider bite in his face. His doctor says that it can cause Herpes as he does get outbreaks now t.The spider bite I had on my neck is just like the breakouts that are on my butt. Question: will my partner get herpes form me if we are not protected. Or is it like any other Herpes jsut do ont have intercourse when out hve a breakout? If I take Valtreck \??spell? will it reduce the risk of transferring? I assume this is true as I will not break out and therfore I will not transmit?? Any one heard of this Spider Bite thing and should I tell a guy this before we even know if we are a real item or have had intercourse when is it the right time to tell someone this???

yes it is common to get herpes ob there. usually it's hsv2. definitely follow up with either a lesion culture of this the next time it occurs, done within 48 hours of its appearance and before you start antivirals, or even faster, a hsv2 igg blood test ( you already know you have hsv1 ).

if you have a regular partner, they too should get tested for hsv2 to see if you need to be taking precautions or not.
