herpetic whitlow

Hello,
I havea question concerning herpatic whitlow's transmission.
Yesterday I woke up with a cold sore and immediatly took valacyclovir 2g. I also noticed a small water like blister on my hand that was maybe 3mm in diameter. I freaked out thinking it was herpatic whitlow but I did not have any pain and there as some redness but not a lot. I went to the doctor to get it cultured but she said they could only do a biopsy. So I agreed and they did a small shave biopsy and then cauterized part of it. I dont know why but she didnt cauterize part of it (i dont think she saw it). Anyways. Today morning I was brushing my teeth and did not have a band aid on it as I was washing my hand after, and some saliva with toothpaste fell out of my mouth and landed right on the biopsy site. Mind you, I have an active cold sore on the lower left side of my lip. I've read saliva can transmit the HSV virus, especially with an open wound. Now I am freaking out thinking I may have just really given myself herpatic whitlow.
I did wash it off as soon as I saw it and then washed my hands and the area with soap and water. (the lesion is on my index finger)

What is the percentage that it was transmitted?

If it was can I go get a lab test done or something to see if I have herpatic whitlow specifically? Or do I have to just wait for it to pop up.

Hi, with an established hsv oral you are basicly immune to contracting the same strain in another area, also it needs direct rubbing contact to pass it so considering this your percentage is zero.

I remember reading one of grace's old post and she said when you have one your whole oral region sheds the virus.

No, only skin to skin contact poses a risk for transmission.

I will be reading that soon. Thank you!

I do have another question. When I have a cold sore on the left side, and my hair touches the right side of my lips, this in no way spreads it? Only if my hair touches it, it cold spread right? I know it take a lot but my hair is wet and my hands did touch my wet hair right after.

How do you know so much? I mean a research this all the time but I can never settle for one definitive answer? What data are you looking at that I am not> Not trying to check your credentials, just a curiosity. I wish I didnt freak out at the word herpes.

Spitting is no risk and yes they have temporary antibodies if the mother has hsv

Thank you Life360:)

Also, another question:
I was singing to my 2 yr old today, & i feel like I spit in on him (somewhere) on the face, eye, hair, forehead, nose). & once again I am freaking out. I've read such controversial things regarding spit. Some say it can be passed that way other disagree. Do you think there is any real risk of me passing it to him this way. I try to be careful, I dont share anything, dont kiss him, etc. I would just feel so guilty if I passed it to him.

I've also read that while in utero he gets my antibodies =, same goes for breast-milk. any idea how accurate that is?

a person with hsv1 has antibodies that help in preventing it but the main reason is that hsv types have a home and with hsv1 its oral not the hand or genital area.
