how long after exposure to transmit...

a quick question.  If I were to be exposed to herpes hvs-2.  how long after exposure would i be likely to transmit to someone else?

while highly unlikely, the exposure may be from receiving unprotected oral sex

thanks

it's a maybe though my guess is that since this wasn't your regular partner you've been watching your genital area more closely than the paparazzi watch jessica simpson.  You haven't noticed any signs at all so odds are that you aren' t infected.  You'll have to wait a few months before you can do your final testing to know - that's if you feel the encounter even warranted any follow up testing.

well that make absolute sense.

My potential exposure was about 4 weeks ago and i have no signs.  i did have intercourse with my girlfried 3 days after potential exposure so just trying to see if these is a likelyhood that if i was infected, could i have transmitted seeing to where i have had no symptoms.  sounds like it is a maybe?

exposed is coming in contact with the virus bu tnot necessarily infected. If you aren't infected, you can't transmit the virus.

Infected means actually having contracted it.

ok... next probably easy question is what is difference between exposed and infected?

I think you meant if you were infected with hsv2 how long would it take to be able to transmit to someone else.  Difference between exposed and infected.

You can transmit the virus in as little as a day or two after being infected.
