Herpes Confusion

Okay I had unprotected sex with  someone 10days ago and 7 days after sex he came to me and showed me a small patch of bumps on his penis(shaft). He claims that there is  litte/ to no pain when he urinates, no itching, no burning but irritation when his underwear rubs against it, he wasn't sick or running a fever, and there is no pus coming from the bump or his penis.

We went to the doctor and he said it looked like it could possibly be Herpes but it could also be a rash of some sort from irritation from product or hygiene.

The other things is i have no symptom and Ive been tested for Herpes and it was negative I had a complete STD check weeks prior to this encounter. I have NO SYMPTOM of any sort, nothing.

I dont really have a question, just wondering what you guys and girls may have to say about the situation, what you think or if you have been in a similar situation.

Thanks, I am so worried and confused

Thank You!

Still waiting for his result--seem like forever but I am not worried.

He called the other day and stated that the rash/bumps are no longer visible on his penis, which I am glad to hear!

He and I will never have sex again...I have learned my lesson about having unprotected sex with someone I barely know...LESSON LEARNED!

There is a rapid hsv2 igg blood test - 2 of them actually.  His blood test results should be available soon - only takes a few hours to run the tests.

I think you can stop worrying about herpes though.  He should follow up with a dermatologist.  don't have sex until he's gotten answers and treatment though.

I am still waiting for his results...we went yesterday and they were not ready...I should have know they wouldn't be because results take about a week and it has not been a week since he was seen by the doctor....it has only been a few days not counting the weekend.

Also I am starting to agree and believe it is not Herpes because the bumps are still there and it has been 7 day and with initial outbreak it is very painful and the lesions heal within a few day if I am not mistaken(please correct me if I am wrong)...of course I still want documentation stating that he is negative to ease my mind and his

I agree because symptoms which he has none and time period just isnt adding up with him...I feel he is lying or had sexual relations with someone after me !

I just have one question is there a rapid HSV test available?????

Thank You again for the response and reassurance this has really been helpful becasue I was really stressing myself out to the point where i have stress bump/pimple on my face ...again THANK YOU!

If his regular doctor can't figure out what is going on, he should see a dermatologist or go to a std clinic.  This really doesn't sound like herpes on him.

He could have a fungal infection or bacterial infection going on too.

Wait for his test results to come back and then go from there.

Also... do you by any change know what other STD may cause bump on a mans genitals?

When we went to the doctor he also said it could be a rash..that was the first thing he said...but still took STD precaution.

Thank You so much for responding!

I just spoke with the guy and he said that they are white and he feels pinching but they are not blisters.

I dont know what specific herpes testing was used but it was by blood work with the STD screening. Yes I saw my results in the doctors office and I recently had a pap done and he checked me for HPV so if there was any type of indication of wart or blistering inside my vagina my HCP would have said something to me and performed further testing.

In addition I have no symptoms and I have never had any indication or something that would alert me to get checked out becasuse something is going on.

What are the typical Herpes symptoms and what are things you should look out for in case of infection?

At this point he needs further follow up to find out what is going on. No itching or pain at all with these lumps and it's doubtful that they are due to herpes to be honest. At this point he'll need a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what his own status is.

When you had your std testing done, how did they test you for herpes? Did you see your results with your own eyes to be sure that indeed you were tested for herpes?
