no it is not called herpes zoster.
also there are 8 human herpes viruses, not 100's.
grace
It is called herpes zoster google it .. Remember there 1000s of type ofg herpes ..your issue on you hand called herpes zoster
Unfortunately many providers do not fully understand how herpes infects and what recurrences on different body parts mean. If we assume that your ankle symptoms were a hsv2 genital infection reoccurring on a non-genital part of the body ( they can occur anywhere from the waist and below ), you would also be shedding the virus from the anal/genital area too. Itchy neck could be due to hsv2 but it would only be occurring right before or during a recurrence on your hand.
obviously you would've gotten hsv2 on your hands from a hand to genital contact - no other way to have gotten it. Your provider should've recommended testing on your partner at the time to know their status :(
Hi grace,
The STD clinic told me that i should be treated by my doctor as it is not an STD because of the locations of the outbreaks. They told me that the outbreaks occur at the sites where you have been infected. How could they get this so wrong.
He has never been tested as we were never advised to do this. I didnt realise it was an STD due to the advice received.
Please could you explain in more detail why have i had the obs on my hand and not my genitals?
Also, what is the itching on my neck?
Feel very upset if I have passed this onto my partner. I had no idea that he was at risk.
Surely the doctors that have seen me should have known that i could pass this on.
It was me that insisted on having the suppressive therapy. I was concerned that i would pass it onto my children due to the obs on my hand.
I feel very distraught now. I would have taken precautions if i had known that my genitals were affected. Now my partner has to deal with this when it probably could have been prevented.
Where should my partner go to be tested and what tests are available? I am reluctant to go back to the same clinic.
We are based in London.
One final question, assuming my partner has caught herpes. Can i now catch it from him on my genitals. Or is this unlikely.
Thank you
One final question.
it's quite likely you do have hsv2 genitally if you had ob's on your feet and also on your hands. I certainly would assume so at this point.
it wasn't shingles. shingles won't reoccur like this.
at this point, you and your partner figuring who had it first isn't going to be possible over a year into things. He should be tested though to know his status so that you know who has what so you can take proper precautions for sex. was he never tested for herpes yet up to this point?
grace
