lower back tailbone buttock pain and leg tingling

Hello all I am worried that I will never get better. It has been over 15 months with all these symptoms and they don't go away. I am pretty sure I have GHSV-1. Does anyone else on this site have the same complications? I have been to neurologists pain management and spinal surgeon. I have received injection in my spine, and still no improvement. Anyone?

Thank you for the responses. It is so important to be able to reach out, and get a response.
Throughout this whole process I had my doctor put me on Valtrex for a couple of months 1 gram 3 times a day for 7 days, then 1 gram daily there after. it made no difference in my condition what so ever. I have probed my neurologist, my GP, my urologist (chronic prostatitis), and pain management doctor about herpes being the cause of all of this, they don't buy it, however before this I have never had any thing like this. Have you heard of post herpetic neuralgia lasting this long? I also read that the medical community only applies PHN to shingles, going for a second opinion from a neurosurgeon.

These would be called prodrome symptoms but would not last longer than a couple of weeks. If  you having these constant for the last 15 months then its an other back problem like a pinched never or its the result of herpes called "postherpetic neuralgia.

GHSV-1 Genital Herpes. Like I said soon after a recurring outbreak. Redness, itching, Nerve tingling in my penis, and a few bumps, I started having tailbone pain that has gotten worse over time. I have nerve pain and tingling in the sacral area that is constant. It is concentrated in my buttocks, the sciatic nerve through both legs.

You say your pretty sure you have hsv1 and then you say you tested and you have hsv1. You dont say where your having outbreaks now mention what symptoms your having for the last 15 months.
If your looking for guidance you really need to be more specific as im not really sure what your saying.

I have not had a culture test but have been tested and am for for type 1. The outbreaks them selves were not severe, but obvious. I have had a couple of months on Valtrex and it did not help at all. All started a couple of weeks after an outbreak. No obvious trauma. I am just wondering if this is a possibility or am I barking up the wrong tree with these symptoms.

Hi, if you want to confirm you have hsv then you need to be tested to confirm your status. If youve had prodrome symptoms like tingling for 15 months its either not herpes or its a nerve complication issue from having herpes outbreaks before.
