opinion needed

hello,

i got routinely tested for stds and received a positive for hsv1 (1.45) and hsv2 (2.13) on march 6,   i hadn't really noticed ever noticed any symptoms, so i got retested 3 weeks later and was hsv1 (1.33) and hsv2 (1.11).   still both positive but my hsv2 dropped a lot.     Although it could be psychosymptomatic, i have noticed some dull aching in my genital region lately, and also a very small lesion (not painful) which healed in a week or so.    Do i definitley have gential herpes or should i get some more testing?   thanks

You need further testing.  Your index value is below 3.5 and you might have a false positive antibody test.  YOu also need the western blot test described above.

I doubt that.  You can ask your personal health care provider to do that, if you have one, or you can become a patient of our clinic, westoverheights.com, and we will do it for you.  You could ask an urgent care clinic and see what they say, give everyone a chance to say yes, right?

No, you do not definitely have either HSV 1 or HSV 2.  You need to acquire a herpes western blot test from the University of Washington.  Please have your health care provider order test code 34534 from quest labs for confirmation of these test results.  At your HSV 2 levels, less than 15% of people actually confirm positive for HSV 2 infection.  What state do you live in?
