outbreak

Can a herpes outbreak happen just 16 hours after intercourse ?

actually about 1/2 of all presumed newly acquired infections are recurrences.

at this point all you can do is follow up properly with herpes igg blood testing.

have you ever been tested for herpes before?

any chance of getting the partner in question tested and share their results with you?

No it is not a recurrence. This is the first time I have ever had an outbreak this way. I was seen by a doctor but not yet tested and told that it looks more like an allergic reaction than it does a herpes outbreak.

if this is a recurrence, yes it can. will a newly acquired infection show up that soon, no it will not.

have you been seen yet and had a work up done?

I believe it takes from 2 days to 4 days for an outbreak to occur.
