possible false positive???

I just received the result of my std testing and everything was negative but HPV 2.

here are the results:
HSV 1/2 IGG,TYPE SPECIFIC AB HERPESELECT
HSV 1 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC AB 0.08
HSV 2 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC AB 1.18

After some research it is my understanding that false positive are possible for values below 3.5
I have been with my gf for a year and a half. we are currently in a long distance relationship and last time we had sex was 2 month ago.

I had the chicken pox when I was a child, could it affect the result of the test?
Do you think I should do another test to confirm the 1st one?

thank you for your help

You may get a Westernblot just about in that timeframe that will be definitive. I'd go straight to Terri Warren as a phone patient to save time mucking around with doctors who have little idea at times.

no she has not tested, I am gonna ask her to do a test.
I am not gonna see her for the next 3 weeks so if there is a way to do another test to confirm a false positive within that time frame and not scare her for nothing that would be better.

Most likely a false positive, you can wait a few weeks and retest, of proceed to a Westernblot now.

Has your gf tested?
