question about herpes simplex 2 results...

I recently had an experience which really freaked me out so I went to the labcorp and had a full panel std check done. I was cleared negative on all tests except hsv2. My reading was 2.0 for hsv2 and .9 for hsv1. Now I dont know if penetration was made with someone 2 days prior and have been told to retake the test after 1-4 months for that clarification. My concern is I was reading about the 3.5 grey area on these tests. Being that I have a score of 2.0 it doesnt seem im in the clear or definately positive. assuming no penetration was made 2 days prior to testing I have only been with 1 woman in 8 years and she has negative reaults from testing. How could my readings not be higher if im on no meds and never have been yet been infected for over 8 years. Also not using protection with my partner most of the time but not transmitting the disease? Ive read about the western blot and am not sure if this is the route I should take. Should I be concerned, retested? any advice is greatly appreciated

no reason to treat.

don't waste time or money on other tests, just get the WB at the appropriate time.

odds are you had a false positive hsv2 igg from the sounds of things and just need the confirmatory testing to prove it.

am i able to get another test ran in the meantime? also should i refrain from seeking any treatments as because of the lower scores? i "feel" a burning sensation at times in the shaft of my area, but i also may be making myself feel that way as im so paranoid. are there any signs i should look out for in the meantime other than outbreaks?

confirming your status with a herpes WB blood test is the best course of action at this point. you need to wait 4 months after the last time you had sex to do so.
