she had a cold sore...

Within a day or 2 of September 23, I met a girl at a college party, and she appeared to be a clean person. In a drunken moment we kissed and I received unprotected oral sex. During that week, I began having cold symptoms (simple coughing, on/off sore throat, sneezing, mucus build-up).

On the 25th of September, I began to notice that a lymph node located on my inner thigh, and one located on the back of my neck started swelling.

On the night of the 27th of September, I met up with the same female. I noticed that she had grown a slight cold sore above the top lip (small enough to cover with a layer of makeup), however I didn't think too much into it. I did subconsciously attempt to sway away from any kissing, however some kissing was done. Once again, I received unprotected oral sex, then proceeded to have protected intercourse.

Today, September 29th, I am freaking out. The same 2 lymph nodes are still swollen, however I still have minimum cold symptoms (slight coughing and mucus build-up). Im looking to wait a few days still for anything to show up. How long should I wait to visit a doctor to get a clear answer of whether or not I have contracted herpes or any other STD? In a paranoid search, I did some reading here and there. Is it true that once you get simple cold sores when you are at youth, you have little reason to worry about any orally transmitted herpes? What are the chances of her cold sore transmitting into genital herpes?

Someone please tell me that my lips and junk will be fine. Please?

I was actually getting sick before I messed around with that girl. I'm sure all of this doesn't help tho. My ex girlfriend keeps trying to get me to come hang out with her. I've been trying my hardest to avoid that until I am completely sure.

You know who's fault this is? It's the fault of the wang. I should really cut this thing off.

Worst case scenario you would have gotten HSV-1 which is oral herpes. I know it soulds scary, but 90% of the human population has oral herpes. I went to the doctor the other day and when I asked him about it, he laughed and told me that he and everyone else in the world has had oral herpes and that testing would be a waste of my time. If she had anything else, you probably would have known by now and if your still concerned go get tested. It's flu season and you probably caught a cold or flu from kissing her. Symptoms for anything serious wouldn't have come up that quickly. Your fine and probably just worrying yourself into being sick

Update:

So, I asked my mom if when I was younger, had I ever had cold sores. She told me I hadn't. But does this mean that I never had the virus, or that I just didn't show it? Ive been associated with people that have had cold sores. Ive shared cups and cigarettes with them, and have never had, nor really worried about having an outbreak.

This evening I've noticed that the lymph nodes have slightly shrunk in size. I still have slight cold symptoms, though I have not been keeping medicated. Could someone tell me something? Good or bad news, I need to hear something.
