unsure if herpes, please help!

hi there i am a 23 yr old woman. i recently had a break up with long time bf whome we share 2 kids.  during our 2 week break up i had unprotected sex with another male, who i do know.  my bf and i are together and he knows of the situation. we continued on with our lives and had sex. he recently (about 3 or 4 days) ago realized he had a bump on his penis...on the base. before showing me he tried popping it thinking it was a pimple so i dont know what it looked like but now it looks red and open.  we immediately thought herpes and that i contacted it from the other male. i have had no symptoms at all which i know can happen. i had about a day or teo of very minor irritation when urinating...and it went away...but ive incountered that before..
at the same time of noticing the one he popped there was one on the back side of his penis around the base as well...this one i saw and its appearence is little and almost like a clear white pimple...  then today he told me he got another one. he showed it to me and its very small and white clearish as well. he doesnt seem to be in any discomfort. he said there is no pain or itching except his balls which is normal for him and doesnt feel its any different. he looked at me and didnt see anything on the outside.  we have given oral sex to eachother and nothing there..so im unsure what to think.  i thought maybe sebaceous prominence. he is 22 yrs old.
he has no crae card so cannot get checked and im unsure when i can get checked. i started my period 5 days ago and is ending...any help is grately appreciated...
ps can i go to a walk in clinic for tests?
thank you

Getting a blood test in Canada is HARD.  Even if he had a care card, he would still have to pay for it out of pocket in most cases.

If you can get your doctor to order it, and good luck with that - they don't like the blood tests in Canada - you can get the blood test done, but you might still have to pay for it.

I've heard from some people that if you go to your doctor and say you just found out a partner has herpes, they will do the blood test.

thax for the story...

he has no care card, we live in canada and right now he hasnt been working so not enough money to just pay for a test. i get it all free so its no prob for me/thats whats makin it so hard! he's the one with "symptoms" and im not...and if that swab test did nothing then im so worried...and wasted 3 weeks of bein on the edge waitin to find out results. i dont know of any free clinics or anything that can help, and were not telling anyone which makes it more difficult but is our choice

What about your other partner?  Would he be able to get tested by blood test?

What country are you in?  Getting tested for herpes should NOT be this difficult.

I'm in a similar situation you're in, except I'm married and foolishly had unprotected sex with another guy and few days after with my husband. few days later, he got a "pimple" on the shaft of his penis while I was experiencing thick white discharge and pain while peeing. My symptoms lasted only a few days. I was certain I got chlamydia, but went to a gyno and tested negative for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and trich. I didn't feel the need to do blood tests to check for other STD's cuz I didn't see any symptoms. But my husband got worried about his symptoms and he went to a urologist. The nurse was paranoid about his wound from the pimple (i think he burst it when he first saw it, it scabbed, but then the scab came off while showering, so it looks like an open wound now), but when the doctor looked at it, he didn't see the need to do a swab. Anyway, my husband did some blood tests to check for STD's. So I got paranoid from this too and went back to my gyno to do the blood tests. For the past 10 days I've been reading everything I can online about STD's. Now that I think it's a herpes possibility, I've narrowed it down to reading about herpes. We're both awaiting our results and it's driving me crazy. Any little ache, pain, etc he has, I get even more worried and think it's a symptom of herpes. I feel normal but I check myself down there a few times a day to make sure nothing's come up. And it's so frustrating that the symptoms for herpes are SOOO vague and vary from person to person. My "other partner" claims to have never had any symptoms (I didn't notice anything either), so that's what's giving me some hope now. BUt as they say, you never really know until you get tested. I guess all I can do now is wait.
Just thought I'd share my story since we seem to be in the same boat (almost). I hope everything turns out well for you!

found out today the test came back negative for herpes, gon, and chlamydia as well as yeast infection. i felt better, as if anyone would but still feel unsure, especially now that i read that last post of it not mattering if i got the swab done with no apparent symptoms.  I still have no lesions if i have it..at least on the outside of me...can i get it inside??  the last couple days the opening of my vagina has been sore. but no bumps.  i.ve been having cramps since the doc checked me out..like menstral cramps as well...i feel fine otherwise...my bf hasnt had any more bumps on his penis since they disappeared.

i read that the first outbreak isnt at the base or where hair is on men if herpes. is that true?  his was where his hair would have been at the time. he shaved but hasnt since...no where else on his penis...we havent had any mouth sores and have done oral sex at the time we werent concerned...im so lost lol...want to believe test results so bad but cant...

A herpes swab when you didn't have any symptoms was a complete and total waste of time.  You two need to go find somewhere to be sene that knows about herpes.  Your bf will just have to payout of pocket for his care.

so we went yesterday. he cant get tested as no care card but hes the one with what we think are the symptoms...so we went to one and i dont think he knew what to do..he gave me a form to get tested so we went to another walk in and they actually tested me by swab for herpes and gonereah...and i think yeast infection or another kind of infection cause he said it looks like i may have a yeast infection.  i also know they commonly mistake that instead of herpes but i have high hopes! so now i wait and this waiting game *****. my bf says his whatever he has are getting better and the two that were 'coming' havent really grown or anything yet.
how does the first known outbreak usually go? i heard its really painful??

hi again.. so its been a couple days. no doc yet, today hopefully cause of all the holidays. he had something on his tongue and assured me it was nothing that he's had it before and always picked at it for years and junk. still got me queesy. his tongue was also white but he said he hasnt brushed his tongue in a lil while.he sid it only kinda hurt cause he ripped it open but didnt think it was done all the way...yesterday i looked at his penis again to see if any changes. one of the "pimples" which was underneath the penis looked like it started to change in colour and look like its been slightly popped or something...turned reddish. today he said he is getting two more by the bigger one he had that he tried to pop when he saw it. im really worried and so sick to my stomach. i havent had any signs and i know u dont need to but that kinda gives me hope. i havent looked at my anus in full yet but last night it became a lil bit itchy but then again we were out in the heat all day celebrating canada day and walking around. i was wearing full underwear and not a thong like usual, sorry for the detail lol...today it doesnt really feel all too irritated but just a slight...and the past two nights ive been feeling ill for a period of time and then disappears...which may be from exhaustion...but you never know...were going to a walk in clinic hopefuly today and he has no care card so im hoping i can tell him/her whats going on and see if he/she will look at his genitals...and mine i suppose. any help is grately appreciated.
thx

The internet has indicated that some herpes symptoms are very mild like reddness, paper cut etc.

How can we recongise HSV 1 whether is genital or oral? The reddness does not have any blisters, according to the doctor, it is not possible to do any culture test if there is no blister. Further, there is a high possibility of false negative for culture test if the lesion / sore area is too small to collect the sample.

Is there any way to recongise the symptom whether is HSV 1 genital or oral? What is the viral shedding period per year for HSV 1 genital?

To be honest, it doesn't sound like herpes but if you are concerned with it, go to a dermatologist or STD Clinic before it goes away and let them  look at it!! As far as mild irrritation while urinating, I don't think that is anything either!! I think you both need peace of mind to go get checked out because it will be always on both of your mind that the other one has herpes! Get an IGG Herpes Select Test, NOT the IGM!!! If it shows positive for either one for HSV1, you probably had it since you were little which is VERY common in this country so don't fly off the handle if the HSV1 comes back positive!! I bet one of you will since 50% of the population already has HSV1!! His symptoms don't really sound like a herpes lesion....
