weird oral manifestation?

could recurrent, painful peeling of the gums (leaving a red eroded surface) near the teeth be a symptom of recurrent HSV 2?  these weird painful erosions usually come and go in no more than 2 or 3 days.

anyone have an idea?

Stomatitis is really almost always found in children and teens, and would not be caused by HSV-2. Furthermore, oral symptoms are almost only present inside the mouth during the first episode of herpes.

I would have these symptoms checked immediately the very next time they present. Something's going on that needs medical attention.

oh, well then. that was a pretty straightforward answer, lol. i've read that herpetic stomatitis could do this. but i've also read that usually after the initial episode you get sores on your lips like cold sores rather than in your mouth, so i'm a bit confused. it's been like 3 months now. it's really irritating.
