yeast infection or hsv1 outbreak
In was diagnosed three years ago with genital hsv 1. It was my primary outbreak and I had it on my inner thigh area not on my vagina at all. I also get recurring bouts of bv. I have also had some yeast infections as well. At the moment I am itching and burning with a thick white vaginal discharge and I have sort of rubbed with a towel and bled a bhai it I also noticed the other day my underwears elastic was cutting my leg on my thighs which I jow have a rash there. And I am also tender in the right side in the joint of my vaginal area into my thigh. I am wondering if this is due to geast or if it could be a yeast infection. Doctor isn't in until monday. Thank you for your advice.

Yes I went today and doc checked out and cultured it. It is definitely a yeast infection on diflucan and inserting monistat 7 and taking lactobicillus acidophilus. Also soaking in epsom salt to relieve itching soreness and swelling.
Its so itchy and swollen. I sat and soaked in hot water to get itching to subside. Its helpe d some but still swollen. Hsv 1 can't caus e swelling and itching? It doesn't burn wen I urinate or anything. I don't see any visible sores or anything inside. My outbreak that I had were always on my thigh I never had any lesions internally
Hi, Yeast infections can cause vaginal irritations. Also recurrent breakouts tend to be in the same spot give or take an inch.

you can give the leg rash some extra tlc until it heals. something like a cornstarch based powder or even a barrier cream like desitin or aquaphor are often useful to help reduce friction until the skin heals.
avoid sex at this point until your infection has cleared up.
does this sound like a hsv1 recurrence? probably it isn't. that said, infections in the genital area can trigger shedding of genital herpes so avoiding sex at this point for that reason too is a good idea.
