yeast infection ?

i have open sores on the skin between my butt and vagina. it itches and burns when i urinate. ive been to the dr twice and she says its a yeast infection. she prescribed a cream but it only made the sores spread. im now on a different cream and it helps a little but its made my vaginal lips swollen. ive take diflucan but nothings seemed to work. is this really a yeast infection?

Did your doctor actually test for yeast, and do a herpes swab/culture? It's important that it's not a guess, but actually tested for.

Hello and Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum. I am very glad that you found us at MedHelp and took the time to post. However I am sorry that you are experiencing such a painful yeast infection.

Please know that you are always welcome here. However our forum is geared more towards chronic pain issues such as fibro, muscle pain, spinal pain and similar conditions. I would make an appointment with another doctor for a second opinion or go back to your doctor if the creams are not working.  There are different types of yeast infections as well.  I can not use monistat and need to use gyno lotrimin when ever I have a yeast infection.  The doctor may also prescribe a stronger cream for you other then over the counter that works very well.

It sounds as though it could possibly be herpes?  You could google herpes and see what they look like and compare to what you have.  Have you been to an obgyn?  I would definitely suggest that.  If it was a yeast infection the diflucan and creams should have worked.  I"ve never heard of open sores with a yeast infection.  I hope you start to feel better soon.  I know it must be very painful.  Let us know!!
