Chorky with BM issues...PLEASE advise

I'm trying to get an answer today to my concerns and after posting my issue in the regular pet forum & getting no response I am trying here.

My 11 month old female chihuahua yorkie has been pretty "regular" since I got her.  She typically  has a BM in the early morning...another in the afternoon and one after dinner before bed.

Recently she is not going, her last BM was two nights ago.

I am desperately trying to figure out why and this is my list of possibilities & concerns:

-She has a habit of eating fuzz off her toy balls, or stuffing inside the toys

-She has a habit of finding hair her own or mine (mine is long) and eating it

***Both of these possibilities above have caused her some struggle in defecating in the past therefore her toys have been monitored for holes and balls for shredded fuzz, we try to sweep every day to prevent her from finding my hair and eating it.

-I thought possibily it was the change in weather that made her not really want to go...the cold or maybe the wind

***but then it warmed up a lot again no longer in the teens, plus she wears a jacket when she goes out.  Furthermore, she uses her wee-wee pad in emergencies & hasn't even used that either.

-she eats Nutra & Blue Buffalo for puppies (mixed) her food gets supplemented with diced meat & vegatables cooked seperately from our food.

--I cut the rice out of her food thinking perhaps it had her constipated.

I am very concerned about my sweet puppy she's not in any distress but I must mention she is just getting into her first heat I believe...I don't know if the lower appetite or issues with moving bowels could be associated with that but please help.

I heard about canned pumpkin acting as a laxative and I plan to try that tonight.  I myself drink an herbal tea to help with constipation it is called Smooth Move it is Senna Tea...could she have a couple teaspoons of that as well?

Anything... any advice...just please help.

Thank you so much for your response.  I had called her doctor that day and was advised by the Dr. that if she did not pass a BM by morning to bring her in...that same evening she had a BM when I got home from work.  She is eating regularly again and going at least once a day or twice.  I appreciate your response considerably.  I have introduced the pumpkin into her diet once a day.  I don't want her to wind up with diarrhea.  She is actually not moving along with going into heat but I'm in no rush.

I would strongly recommend getting her to a veterinarian. 2 days without making a poo for such a small dog is a really long time...actually concerning long time. Especially since her norm is 3 times a day. I'm assuming she is still urinating right? If she isn't, she needs to go to the vet ASAP. You mentioned lower appetite. This also is concerning, especially if it started after you noticed she's not making poos. Generally appetite is not affected by a heat cycle. Is there any vomiting??
With the possibility of a foreign body (you stated she does eat the stuffing of her toys and hair) and these symptoms a vet visit soon is warranted. If its a foreign body obstruction, this can turn deadly quickly, especially with such a small dog.
As for the pumpkin, it can act as a laxative...however, it ALSO can firm up stool. It does both depending on the condition of the stool in the intestines. If its constipation, it may help, but it might not either. If its a foreign body obstruction it won't work at all. As for the tea, senna is safe as it is not a listed toxic herb to animals. HOWEVER, I wouldn't recommend giving it and the pumpkin. If the problem is constipation it could potentially cause a drastic 180 with extreme diarrhea. With a tiny dog, severe diarrhea can dehydrate them quickly and make electrolytes severely imbalance causing a cascade of serious problems.
Good luck and hope your baby it ok. Keep us updated.
