Coughing pygmy. Is this a normal sign of aging?

I've recenty rescued 2 old pygmy females from a friend of a friend that had a stroke and is living in a nursing home. We are thinking both of them are @ least 8 years old. We know nothing about them, not even their names, age, etc.  I noticed them sometimes coughing. Is this normal for an aging goat? They are both overweight too.

Thank you for any advise you can provide.

I have a few pigmy's and the one thing u might want to look into is talking with your vet because from experience with the older ones they can tend to get congestive heart problems and they can treat for that. And especially if you think they are over weight. I would strongly suggest talking with a vet that deals with large animals. and keep me posted on what happens

I don't know much about pygmy goats, as we only have boer goats (a large meat goat breed).  I can tell you from my experience with the boer goats, they do tend to cough occasionally regardless of their age.  At least with our goats the coughing is normal and has not ever been a symptom of any health problem.  Hope this helps.
