Can I have genital warts?

I slept with this guy without knowing he had genital warts and he didn't wear a condom for about maybe 3 minutes, but had one on for the remaining time. after a week I noticed I was itchy and had kind of a rash and it made me nervous because I figured he could have given me an std , but before we slept together he told me he had been tested and that he didn't have anything. I went to planned parenthood and the doctor told me I just had a yeast infection. I mentioned the rash to him so he went to the doctor as well to get checked again and this time he got a physical check and they found that he had genital warts on the back of his balls. He has a total of 4 . I don't think I ever came into contact with the warts but will I still get them or some strain of hpv ?It's been 3 months now and I haven't noticed any bumps and I have not slept with him since he told me he had them .

OK, so now you know that men cannot be tested for HPV except for a biopsy of genital warts. And now you know that he had genital warts on his scrotum and should not have had sex with you or anyone.

The presence of visible warts on his scrotum made the sex he had with you high risk but do realize that people are passing the virus to each other via invisible warts. Condoms do not cover a scrotum, thighs, buttocks, pubic area or the base of the penis. The 3 minute unsafe sex was not a good idea anyway. Usually during sex, a man's scrotum gets rubbed with a woman so it is possible he spread it to you. But not very likely since it was a one time encounter.

Average time to show warts is 2-8 months past the encounter. Women can get tested for HPV. No visible warts at 3 months is good but you should consider getting tested by the 6-8 month past the encounter point. The odds are good that you didn't get infected since it was a one time event by not zero.
