Could My HPV Be Gone?

Ok, so i never even knew i had HPV until i was pregnant with my daughter back in 2013. As i was pregnant i had broke out with warts, the doctor said it was because my antibodies were fighting for the baby and not for me and they would go away after i had my daughter. After I had my daughter they went away on their own, it only took about a month or so for them to clear up . It has now been 4 years and i have had no other symptoms nor have i had any more warts pop up at all . I have read that your body can fight the virus and it is gone after 2 years, i have read that you have it for life . I have just read so many different things about it and i am confused . Could it be gone ? If i get pregnant again will it show back up ? I plan on having another child , i am with someone else now, I just would like to know if anyone has any personal stories or professional opinion on the matter.

There is no such thing as "re-infection".  You can get more strains from new partners but the original strains never leaves.

I cannot tell you which vitamins to take when pregnant. Speak to your GYN about over the counter vitamins like C, E, A, folic acid, etc.

If I were you I'd get tested. so generally it goes away in 2-3 years. If you come out negative get a vaccine against it. The only way you'd get it again is reinfection. I did read that it's dormant but the way I see it so is the flu but you still get shots. And is flu considered dormant. Chances of getting chx pox second time is unheard of. Next step is shingles . It's a terrible example my point is your body probably does have the antibodies but there are over 40 hpv strands out there please for the love of life get vaccinated nothing worse when you get 16\18

Most doctors think that the HPV virus remains in one's body forever like the chicken pox virus.  After 2 years of no warts, your body successfully made it dormant and you are not infectious at this time. Women can get tested and I encourage you to get tested. You will probably get a negative result. But as I wrote, the CDC and medical community believe it never leaves the body. Approx. 90% of infected people never get infectious or show signs again. No one knows who is in this 90%.  Pregnancy lowers your immune system and it is possible that the genital warts could return when pregnant. No one can say for sure but staying healthy is a good way to prevent their return. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy, exercise, don't smoke cigs, avoid excessive drinking and avoid stress to remain healthy and strong.

There just isn't a one size fits all answer to any question about HPV. Sorry.
