Genital wart?

I had an unprotected sex encounter with a CSW since the condom broke 8 weeks ago. I now see a red raised spot to the left of my penis on the genital area which I suspect to be a wart. I am worried but mostly I am worried if I had passed it to my wife since I had unprotected sex twice with her within a week of the exposure. My wife had not complained yet of symptoms and we are currently staying far from each other and will be like that at least for another year due to personal constraints.

Is there a timeframe when I could have turned contagious or I could have transmitted the virus to her already? How can I ascertain for sure that my wart is indeed a genital wart and not any other wart. Should I wait for my wife to notice symptoms as I heard that the virus is usually suppressed by immune system?

All my Sti tests are negative at 8 week mark.

They sometimes do subside but they can also return to the same size.

Get the wart looked at by a dermatologist asap.  If necessary have it removed and biopsied for HPV testing. Most people who are exposed to partners with the low risk strains can get warts 2-8 months after exposure. Your wife should get tested yearly or every other year depending on her coverage. The lack of warts on her means nothing. The virus can be made dormant by a healthy immune system but this doesn't mean it won't activate one day when people get ill. Do not have sex with anyone until you know your health by having that bump looked at and if necessary, biopsied.

So....I was messing with that bump..I went to a doc and he said he is not sure yet to diagnose it as a wart and he said it could be a hair follicle as well. He had asked me to come back after a month to check if the wart grows.

Now..I got curious/anxious and started messing with that bump. I shaved the pubic hair around it to see it clearly. In this process I had irritated the bump and it scabbed a bit. I put a bandaid to this bump and also applying bactroban..it's now been 3 days since. To me the bump seems to be subsiding but not fully gone..It now looks like a more of a red spot and turning towards the colour of my skin..

Do genital warts subside in a week or two? If it subsides can I rule out genital warts?

I know I sound stupid but trying to find rays of hope...Please advise.
