HPV positive "Other"

I had a Pap smear done on July 26, 2017. My Pap came back abnormal. I tested negative for HPV-16 & HPV-18. But was positive for "Other Type" is all the results say. I was vaccinated for HPV 7/27/15, 9/23/15, 2/15/16. I understand that the vaccines only prevent 90% of HPV. I think I can visually see warts up above my ureathra. I realize there is no test to prove whether a man has HPV or not. Unless the warts appear. Do I tell my past partners that I tested positive?
Will I ever have a clear Pap smear again?
How high are my chances of getting cervical cancer?

I have been sexually active since October '14. I was 23 years old. I thought I would be the type to wait until marriage. I really wish I would've. I was the one that bought the condoms. Out of 9 partners I've had only 4 of them that we didn't use condoms consistently. I've read that HPV can still be contracted even with a condom. I've always asked my partners if they were clean. I've read that the only way a man can be tested for HPV is by an anal Pap test which isn't common for heterosexual men. I feel guilty that this happened to me. February seems so far away for my next Pap for me to be sitting here worrying. I have narrowed it down to three guys that I could've caught it from. I remained sexually active after the first, second & third vaccine. I hadn't even received the vaccine when I hadn't been using consistent contraceptive with my second sexual partner back in '15. I thought putting the puzzle pieces together of my past would make me feel better. It only makes me feel foolish. I wish I had been vaccinated before I became sexually active. I thought my worst fear was to become pregnant at a young age. The man that took my virginity will always have a special place in my heart. I have pride in saying I waited until after high school & college. I'm 26 years old & I feel like I have ruined my future. It terrifies me to date now. If you're reading this, please get your girls & boys vaccinated before they become sexually active!

No need to tell past partners of your diagnosis. 90% of all infected people make the virus dormant. So the odds are very good that you will get a negative result in 6-12 months.

If you do have visible warts, your doctor should be able to prescribe something (a procedure or a cream) to remove them.

Thank you veryworried420. I go back to my gynecologist in February for another Pap Smear. When I went in July she told me the medicine is expensive & it could be painful to have the warts removed. I still think I want to try to have them removed. I'm hoping my next Pap comes back clean. I'm holding a lot of guilt that this happened to me. My regular physician told me to not allow myself to feel bad.

So you should do a test for high risk HPV. I think my partner gave it to me (we still together) but a blessing in disguise if I did get it before him I did minimal damage on others. I kept my legs shut didn't sleep around or cheat but I did get cheated on. So if you tested negative for 16|18 that combinations out of any other combination is the highest yielding in cervical cancer. So you just dodged a bullet per se. I had that combinations and my OB basically said I was going to get cancer. It was the worst weight on my shoulders. I didn't go to doctors for almost 2.5 years needless to say I fought it off while drinking half a keg and smoking ciggs. But I did one key difference and it was my diet. It also depends on your age if youre in your late 20's you can do it.even if your not you can still do it. Don't doubt yourself. Just learn and maintain. As far as your relationship well you need to make sure he doesn't cheat or you. If it's warts its mostly harmless. If it becomes very easily spreadable u should test for STDs and STIs and any microbacteria .I got the first generation of HPV vaccine now that I'm clear I'm gonna get the latest one it covers more it will protect me from my last infection. My buddah nature will pray for you.

Thank you for writing to me. I go yearly for my Pap smear screening. I'm going tomorrow to my regular physician. To get more information on HPV. I have to go back to my OB/GYN in February. The OB/GYN nurse told me I'll have to have a Pap smear every 6 months for the next 3 screenings until my results come back clean of HPV. Did you have to have a Pap smear every 6 months? Did you have to have a colposcopy?
My regular physician told me not to worry about cervical cancer. That my gynecologist will stop the abnormal cells before they reach cancer stage. My dr told me it probably wouldn't benefit me to get vaccinated again for HPV. I was most likely vaccinated with Guardisil. As far as telling my past partners, he told me it isn't worth hurting my reputation.
