HPV transmission/prevention/symptoms

If someone has HPV, Oral or Genital, what are the chances of spreading this to the other partner?  If you have oral sex, what are the chances of passing HPV to the other person orally? What are the chances of the other person being infected with oral HPV through Oral Sex? What about genital contact without penetration? If the infected person receives Oral HPV, can he/she pass on the virus through kissing (on the cheek, on the mouth, etc), drinking after someone, sharing a towel, touching your mouth/genital area and touching the other person? Does the wart have to be directly touched by skin in order to pass it?

What are the initial symptoms of genital and oral HPV? At what point does the HPV virus become active after you might have initially had sexual contact with an infected person (for instance: if you have unprotected sexual contact with someone who is infected, how long does it take for the virus to spread through your system before you are able to pass it to another person?)

I understand that most HPV types do not show any symptoms and as a result, I am talking about the HPV types which cause warts.

I would like to get tested for HPV, what are the ways a male and female can do this and what is the most effective for oral and for genital HPV? What is the most effective treatment for both as well?

When I became pregnant I was diagnosed with an HPV virus strain in the form of warts after 2 normal paps...so many cell changes in a pregnant women, HpV can flare up. So if you have had unprotected sex with her, you now share the same strains of HPV, but you may never show symptoms.

So, if I was monogomous with one girl but was away for a little more that  year, shortly after returning she got pregnant and during a PAPS/check up she was diagnosed with HPV.  At the time, I had no idea that was an STD, but the doctor said they have to remove it due to her pregnancy.  Isn't it highly probable that she had sexual relations with someone other than me?  Again, I was only with her for 16 months until she was diagnosed.  I've looked this STD up and can not get an accurate assessment of how long this would show up check ups, please assist.

No test developed for men yet 2 detect HPV..only way they know they have it is by getting warts.for women all u can do is keep up with paps, use condoms if not in monogomous relationships...oral HPV prevalence is low but possible.......if u want to learn more browse the archives on these subjects under Related Experts Forum-std's which is to the right of this posting.Drs.Hook and Handsfield have provided much good research/findings with their 30 years of medical experience with this individually.

There are many differant forms on HPV genital warts are one of many which is highly spreadable!!!! The actual virus passes through ones body in about 6 to 8 months. Some people get them so bad that they need to be lazored off. But for women on the other hand can get cervical cancer. Yes, it can be passed orally but HPV is a virus and in some cases are treatable. Please get tested even though it passes your system its not fun to have.
