How long does it take for warts to go away on their own?

I recently had sex for the first time and within about thirty hours, I had itching and bumps forming on my vulva and under my tongue. I had previously had unprotected oral sex a week and a half earlier. Some of the bumps look like sebaceous cysts, but near my vaginal opening there are projections that look like skin tags. They just kind of hang down, although they are very small. I have been to see my family doctor and a gynecologist. I've been tested for just about every STD under the sun and everything has come back negative. My family doctor (whose ability I am not confident in) and my gyno said the first time around that it didn't look like warts (and from what I've read on the internet, the timing seems to be nearly impossible). My gyno said that it looked like I had a pretty bad case of vaginal yeast and oral thrush which were causing me rashes and gave me five consecutive doses of flagyl, which only made me sick after doing three of them and didn't alleviate any symptoms.

What's really worried me lately is that I have had a single bump form in my anus about two weeks ago. It was extremely itchy and painful. I put a lot of anti-fungal cream on it and the bump went down after about two days and now it looks very similar to the finger-like projections just under my vaginal opening (ugh, I can't believe I just typed that phrase). But they aren't going away. So I went back to my gyno again and now he is saying that they could be genital warts, he can't tell for sure. I asked him if I could get the skin projections removed, because even if they were just skin tags I thought they could be removed or diminished. But he said that he wasn't going to send me to the dermatologist because they are apparently "too small" and "no one will know they are there." (No wonder I got them in the first place if this is the advice that doctors give, eh?)

Obviously, I'm not very happy with this outcome. I don't really care that I probably have genital warts anymore, I just want them to go away. I've tried apple cider vinegar (and I just want to add, when I put the vinegar on the bumps, they don't turn a different colour from the surrounding skin, if that makes any difference) and it hasn't helped. So since I can't get them removed I just have to wait for them to go away on their own.

So the real issues of this long-winded post are: can genital warts go away on their own? If so, how long does it usually take? Are there any other otc or home remedies that are worth a try?

Well, my doctor said the same at first, and I saw two additional doctors at my family doctor's office who gave me the same spiel, but some of the bumps really do look like warts and I've tested negative for everything else and been on several kinds of anti-biotics and anti-fungal medications and nothing else is working. None of the three doctors that I've seen can come up with any other explanation. At this point, I just want whatever these things are to go away, but it's already been four months and there is no sign of them going away on their own.

warts will not form that quickly!!

no more vinegar on your genital area either. that test for warts isn't accurate and since vinegar is an acid, you are actually doing more harm than good to your skin by pouring it full strength on your skin :(

bottom line is - you aren't receiving the proper care you deserve so seek out a 2nd opinion elsewhere. another gyn or a dermatologist would be appropriate.  don't hesitate to call your insurance to make sure they understand why you are seeking out the 2nd opinion. legally they  have to ok it so don't take no for an answer either. they also might even be able to suggest a provider to you.

if these are warts will they go away on their own? yes in time they do though typically they spread until they do so. at this point best to find out what is causing your symptoms and go from there.
