I was just diagnosed with low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion. Does that mean I have HPV?..and what can be the cause of this? Most likely how did I get this?

sorry i called u lsil!llsil is not HPV it is definite cervical cell changes....many pap tests today have a thin prep portion that screens for the hpv.....urs musta not done that...the colp will tell for sure.HPV is primarily a sexually transmitted virus there are some here who state it can be transmitted by other means...my docs do not agree with that and the docs under the Experts forum state is a std....very common today.I had high risk HPV several colps and a LEEP procedure.

yes I got to get a colposopy done. The doctor never said anything about HPV. I was just a bit confused about the whole thing. Is LSIL a HPV? Do u get it by sexual activity?
