Multiple Lumps Under Skin on Lips

I had one small lump appear on the inside of my lower lip around 18 months ago. Around 2-3 months ago lots of small lumps appeared almost overnight under my lips. Now there are a significant number of lumps of different sizes, including some large, flat lumps, on my lower and upper inside lip, under the skin. It feels like a couple of the small lumps have grown into long, thin growths, again under the skin, inside my lip. I assume this is oral warts of some variety, although I have no idea why they have appeared, as I have not been sexually active for this period of time. Has anyone else had these symptoms? Is it normal to have such a large number of growths in the mouth? How can they be treated?
