My wife and I have entirely different HPV strains, what does it mean?

I have HPV 16 and 43. My wife has the 59 and 66 strains. We've had unprotected sex for 6 years and we just got tested this week. How is this possible? What does it mean? I'm not accusing or thinking anything, I'm just curious because I thought we would have the very same types.

Your test results (man) could only be via genital warts and those particular warts have strains 16 & 43. It does not mean you don't have other strains.  You have to assume you have what she has and she has what you have. Anything else makes no sense to me!

Hello Joorix,

Thats impressive they can be that exact. Did you go to multiple doctors and got the same results?

Do you have any warts?

Here is what im dealing with...

I was in the same boat as you 1 year ago. I didnt get it taken care of and it spread EVERYWHERE. I just had surgery today to remove about 35 around my shaft and HUNDREDS around and IN my anus. Dont **** up like I did and go get those taken care of YESTERDAY. I cant stress that enough. DONT WAIT!
