Potential Cure(s) for HPV Warts

Given that HPV 6 & 11 research is relatively scarce and certain studies have yielded conflicting results, I decided to utilize my amateur research skills to find what possible cures may abound in the near-future.  Below I’ve listed all potential therapies I could find, what each respective company had to say about latest developments, and my personal opinion on their approach.  Please feel free to add any unaccounted for information and/or avenues for relief!

1. Genticel, http://www.genticel.com/

Representative’s response:
We do not develop vaccine against strains 6 and 11. We may add other strains to our current vaccine, but it will be other high-risk strains.

My take: Well, it was worth a shot (pun intended)

2. NanoVir LLC, http://www.nanovirpharm.com/

Representative’s response:
None

My take: So far, not so good!

3. Tamir Biotechnology, http://tamirbio.com/pipeline/

Representative’s response:
None

My take: From what I’ve read, this company had some major accountability issues a few years back. As a result, product development may have been compromised.

4. Inovio (SynCon), http://www.inovio.com/products/cancer-vaccines/hpv/

Representative’s response:
None

My take: Sounds more focused on cervical-types anyways.

5. Sackler Therapeutic Vaccine, http://sackler.tufts.edu/News/2011/04/Promising-HPV-Therapeutic-Under-Development-at-Sackler

Representative’s response:
Thanks so much for your e-mail.  Currently, my group is not working on HPV (although I believe I might have one more publication out of some work that was started 5 years ago, but that's still years away from the clinic).

My take: :(

6. ADXS-HPV, http://www.advaxis.com/clinical-pipeline/adxs-hpv

Representative’s response:
It could [be effective against hpv 6 & 11] but no trials are underway

My take: :(

7. Multikine, http://www.cel-sci.com/cancer_multikine.html

Representative’s response:
None

My take: Seems like a well designed and funded study, but I’m not sure how effective the product will be against warts specifically.

8. AHCC, https://www.uth.edu/media/story.htm?id=3a86552a-5d2e-45a0-9659-f85ec6d38ce9

Representative’s response:
Both phase II study and new dosing pilot study are actively enrolling patients.   All patients on initial pilot study have completed the study and manuscript is being submitted for publication.  You can follow website for updates too https://go.uth.edu/WHIMResearchProgram  Thank you for your interest.

My take: Don’t get your hopes up here. Study is poorly designed with a small sample size. As a side, these supplements did absolutely nothing for me.

9. DRACO, https://www.ll.mit.edu/news/DRACO.html

Representative’s response:
There is certainly a good chance that DRACO would work against HPV. The team is committed to ending all viral diseases if possible.

Thank you for your interest in Draper Laboratory and DRACO. In the event of significant technical milestones with DRACO, we will post information to our website.

My take: I’m no Big-Pharma conspiracy theorist, but it was weird how thedracofund.org was forced offline a few months back…

I was looking at this subject too. I didn't find anything interesting enough and all the trials were point to women. No trials in men. Some are developed as optional treatments in high degree lessions or cervical cancer so they have a specific target. We will not see anything useful in the near future I guess.

Hi
My doctor said there is no test for hpv in men and no treatment. Its just a virus and the immune system has to fight it off which can take week or months. And to take supplements to help your immune system. Its been about 6 months and i have 1 wart left.

Now for wart treatment do not use the freeze burn treatment cause if you do it to much it will leave scars. So ask your skin doctor for other treatments like acid and cream.

I've been using my amateur research skills as well, and came up with the exact same results...
How can scientist grow body parts in a petri dish but cannot develop a cure for all strains of HPV?
My conclusion is that there isn't enough scientific interest in the matter as long as they have a way to treat the symptoms that's all they care about.
What we need is a brilliant scientist with the funds and resources who is also suffering from the effects of HPV and Genital Warts. Because that is the only incentive strong enough to work your *** off to get a cure.
I wish I could be able to create a cure.

The cure it has to be out there somewhere....

Broken, don't blame Pharma for not producing vaccines or cures because they don't produce income. Vaccines (cures) produce a great deal of income and researchers are diligently trying to produce them BUT it is extremely difficult to produce effective vaccines and the testing is onerous and expensive. Therapeutic vaccines are almost unheard of. There is NO conspiracy to keep us sick so we have to take medicines(treatment).

The Rosales Mel1 is untested and it is extremely possible that it  is only saline.Mexico is a corrupt.lawless country and has siphoned off millions of dollars from desperate patients, mostly from the US. The border towns and D.F are filled with "cancer clinics" and other quack cures, avoid them like the plague that they are!

I am glad that your immune system cleared your infection, that is what happens normally for most people, for those who don't clear the infection , they need observation and treatment when necessary. Good luck

Thanks for doing your research about this.  I have been searching for therapeutic HPV vaccine info for the last 6 months.  It has been VERY hard to come by.

I'm a man in my early 30s and I have HPV (gw). I have had only one infection which was surgically removed about a year ago.  However one nasty discovery is all it took.

I'm frustrated, angry and ashamed of this.  I feel like the medical community only cares about women's health and nothing else (and women complain about "equal rights").

I have been taking shittake mushroom extract.  It's helped.

However I want to know if there's a CURE somewhere under development.  I know about the highly controversial MEL-1 vaccine in mexico.  The american medical community shuns it.  However I'm wondering if there are any other americans who have had success with this.

Yeah its kind of sad to see that little progress has been made and the future is so bleak. That a reliable genital HPV test for men does not exist is crazy. Men are usually the carriers and this virus doesn't always result in warts so few know they have it. That a reliable oral HPV test does not exist is also nuts. This virus can lead to throat or neck cancers if not found and treated early yet the drug companies aren't doing enough to at least diagnose oral HPV in women/men. The medical community reaction is mostly "So what would you do if you did find out you have it?".  Isn't this a question that they should answer?  With millions infected and millions more each year, this is a gold mine for the right drug company. Yet the progress is minimal and the findings conflict, Crazy!
