Given that HPV 6 & 11 research is relatively scarce and certain studies have yielded conflicting results, I decided to utilize my amateur research skills to find what possible cures may abound in the near-future. Below I’ve listed all potential therapies I could find, what each respective company had to say about latest developments, and my personal opinion on their approach. Please feel free to add any unaccounted for information and/or avenues for relief!
1. Genticel, http://www.genticel.com/
Representative’s response:
We do not develop vaccine against strains 6 and 11. We may add other strains to our current vaccine, but it will be other high-risk strains.
My take: Well, it was worth a shot (pun intended)
2. NanoVir LLC, http://www.nanovirpharm.com/
Representative’s response:
None
My take: So far, not so good!
3. Tamir Biotechnology, http://tamirbio.com/pipeline/
Representative’s response:
None
My take: From what I’ve read, this company had some major accountability issues a few years back. As a result, product development may have been compromised.
4. Inovio (SynCon), http://www.inovio.com/products/cancer-vaccines/hpv/
Representative’s response:
None
My take: Sounds more focused on cervical-types anyways.
5. Sackler Therapeutic Vaccine, http://sackler.tufts.edu/News/2011/04/Promising-HPV-Therapeutic-Under-Development-at-Sackler
Representative’s response:
Thanks so much for your e-mail. Currently, my group is not working on HPV (although I believe I might have one more publication out of some work that was started 5 years ago, but that's still years away from the clinic).
My take: :(
6. ADXS-HPV, http://www.advaxis.com/clinical-pipeline/adxs-hpv
Representative’s response:
It could [be effective against hpv 6 & 11] but no trials are underway
My take: :(
7. Multikine, http://www.cel-sci.com/cancer_multikine.html
Representative’s response:
None
My take: Seems like a well designed and funded study, but I’m not sure how effective the product will be against warts specifically.
8. AHCC, https://www.uth.edu/media/story.htm?id=3a86552a-5d2e-45a0-9659-f85ec6d38ce9
Representative’s response:
Both phase II study and new dosing pilot study are actively enrolling patients. All patients on initial pilot study have completed the study and manuscript is being submitted for publication. You can follow website for updates too https://go.uth.edu/WHIMResearchProgram Thank you for your interest.
My take: Don’t get your hopes up here. Study is poorly designed with a small sample size. As a side, these supplements did absolutely nothing for me.
9. DRACO, https://www.ll.mit.edu/news/DRACO.html
Representative’s response:
There is certainly a good chance that DRACO would work against HPV. The team is committed to ending all viral diseases if possible.
Thank you for your interest in Draper Laboratory and DRACO. In the event of significant technical milestones with DRACO, we will post information to our website.
My take: I’m no Big-Pharma conspiracy theorist, but it was weird how thedracofund.org was forced offline a few months back…
