What is going to happen to me most likely?

A month or so ago(29-01-2009) my condom broke while i was having sex with a person whose sexually history i didn't know . Unfortunately for me, she also had last day of her periods on that particular day when my condom broke.
I was told later by that person that she had genital warts five years ago and had undergone laser treatment. She also told me that she had HIV and HPV tests two months prior to the date i had sex with her, and she tested negative, and she didn't have unprotected sex after that.
She calls me today to tell me that she got diagnosed with cervical cancer, and she did have unprotected sex after she tested negative for HIV and HPV. I am so depressed after hearing that, i always had protected sex until now, and even restrained myself from having unprotected oral sex.
What is most likely going to happen to me? If i am infected by HPV can i get married? can i pass the infection to my future wife by having unprotected sex with me?
Wish that person was honest with me which would have allowed me to make an informed decision.
Would appreciate your insights on my case.
Thank you.

You're welcome :) Like I said, you can consider yourself positive for hpv. Hpv can already be transmitted with the proper use of a condom so when that barrier is removed the chances of transmission are that much higher. It is a virus that is VERY easily transmitted and for most people it causes no symptoms so they are unaware they have it. This is why hpv is the #1 occurring std. Sorry I really wouldn't know the cost or the availability of the hpv vaccine in Thailand.

Thanks for your advice. I checked out with the person regarding the type of HPV strain she has and was told that she is still waiting for the reports. Meanwhile r u 100% sure that i have contracted the virus from her? Is their no chance that i have not contracted it.
If i did and luckily there does exist a vaccine for the type of strain i contracted, do u think it is available in thailand? If so, how expensive can it be? Sorry, if i am asking you too many questions, I haven't talked about this even with my close frens. I am only relying on your valuable input regarding my case.
Thank you very much for your time.

Yes it would be nice if people were honest but... most people aren't so we must take it upon ourselves to use our very best judgment in these situations. And when it comes to someone we don't know very well at all, we have no way to judge whether or not they are being honest so we must decide if it is worth the risk. As an advocate of condoms, I do understand your sense of panic. It was supposed to be "safe sex" but when the condom breaks it then becomes "unprotected sex." Here is what it boils down to- condoms are not 100% effective against hpv (or hsv for that matter) so chances are you would have contracted hpv anyways whether the condom had broken or not. While men are not tested for hpv, you can consider yourself positive for a high-risk strain of hpv. What you can do about this is to inform any future partners and inquire if they have had the hpv vaccine. It would also be helpful if you could gain from this person the exact strain she has because the vaccine only protects against four strains and wouldn't it be convenient if the strain you have contracted were one of those four? Now to address your other concern. She tested negative for hiv before you slept together and that should be comforting. Chances are neither she nor you have hiv. But if you are the type of person to let your imagination run rampant I suggest you go ahead and get yourself tested because having that negative result will give you a great deal of reassurance.
