Warts are a symptoms of low risk strains
There are no symptoms that are typical of only certain strains of HPV.
Strains 16 and 18 are high risk strains. They have an increased risk of cervical cancer than other strains but that doesn't mean all women with 16 and/or 18 will get cancer. In fact most even if they have an abnormal pap do not develope cancer. If a pap comes back abnormal this is called dyplasia. There are different levels of cell changes. Most women who have this will find their immune system sheds the virus and cells without further problems. Some women might need a procedure to remove the cells. Women with persistant cell changes are at higher risk for cancer. This is usually measured in years and there are lots of procedures to prevent.
In general there are very little symptoms. Dyplasia can been have these symptoms:
•Genital warts
•Abnormal bleeding
•Spotting after intercourse
•Vaginal discharge
•Low back pain
