Can nebivolol be taken in 2.5 mg doses twice a day

My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.5 mg doses, I am unable to find any medical study using nebivolol twice a day all recommend single dose of 5mg as starting dose, have any of you have experience with taking nebivolol twice a day.

Ask your pharmacist.
And your doctor.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  Paxiled is correct that a decision like this and especially for such a condition as hypertension should not be undertaken by patients and family alone. A doctor should guide these decisions. Unwanted side effects like cough are considered by doctors and weighed against the desired effect of the medication. Risks verses benefits ratio.  Doctors also use medications in ways that aren't always in the literature.  Try to view your mother's doctor as her ally in health to guide you through these hurdles.  Let us know what you find out.
