How to safely wean off Calcium Channel Blocker?

HM2
I'm interested in hearing experiences or thoughts about how to wean off calcium channel blocker, and replace with natural alternatives. Please don't share any 'don't wean off them' type of advice... that isn't my question! I'm utterly convinced the particular strong ca-channel blocker in question has contributed massively to heart failure. Many thanks,

I won't share any don't do it advice but WILL say that it is best to have a doctor guiding you.  Not everyone wants to be on medication as all meds can have side effects.  Did you have high blood pressure?  There are natural ways to treat that which include mostly lifestyle.  Exercise is like taking a medication!  The American Heart Association has been really helpful to me in terms of guidelines.  30 minutes a day of moderate exercise for 5 days a week.  It can be broken down into 10 minute increments but needs to be for at least 10 minutes straight to get the cardiac benefit.  Anything more is a bonus---  but make sure your doc thinks you are healthy enough for exercise.  The DASH diet is good and specific for hypertension.  Rest.  Cutting back on stress.  I'm not sure about your theory that CA blockers cause heart failure as it is used to treat heart failure and has a success record to show for that.  And there are other medication alternatives.  I just don't know the particulars as to why they chose a CA blocker for you to begin with.  but it is your prerogative about taking medications for sure!  Just talk to your doctor about going off.  You could also see a holistic doctor or naturalist.  They are out there!  Becoming more popular in my area.  good luck
