31 yrs old, chest pain with consistent HBP, need direction and advice!

In September of 2015 I started feeling chest discomfort right of my heart. The pain isn't sharp rather fees like someone's pushing fingers into heart, pain can radiate to back and usually is accompanied by the same feeling in throat by Adam's apple.

I have history of acid reflux, had ultra sound done and endoscopy. Endoscopy came back clear, ultra sound showed a small polyp on gallbladder.

Next I went to cardiologist. I was very nervous and do deal with anxiety, my blood pressure was 154/95. In short I had a 24 hour monitor on, a treadmill stress test, a couple EKGs and an echocardiogram done. Everything came back fine with exception of stress test which apparently showed I have HBP. I lasted for 10 minutes and was able to reach the required heart rate of 160.

The cardiologist gave me blood pressure meds but I opted not to take. Afraid of side effects and at my age I'd hope I wouldn't need them. From October to December I'd see daily blood pressure readings from 138/88 all the way up to 148/100. I'd see these readings despite activity, even high readings after a day of relaxing.

I do deal with anxiety so I'm sure many of these high readings were self inflicted due to being anxious and scared.

All my blood work came back fine.

I've always been active, was an avid weight lifter for last ten years and was always in good shape though I took off from the gym for most of 2015. My diet is far healthier than the average person though I have my moments. For the past 2 months my diets been in check, never was one for high sodium, meals are weighed out and portioned, go to gym 2-3 days a week with no issues or discomforts, my job has me on my feet for 8 hours. I take tons of supplements such as garlic, fish oil, COq10, B12, Multi, vitamin D, Magnesium just to mention a few, all should assist with HBP.

Chest pain subsided for last 4-5 weeks but in the last few days it's returned. Started checking blood pressure and it's been upwards of 150/98, higher than its been in past even after lifestyle changes. Face gets hot and red, I deal with heart palpitations, wake up in middle night, when above 145 I can feel pressure building in head in ears and temples. Note I have had adrenal tests done and it seems to be overactive in evenings.

Doctors keep attributing this to anxiety and stress but my anxiety and stress usually increases AFTER I feel the chest discomfort. I desperately want to get these numbers down and I desperately want to know why I have HBP and this chest discomfort.View Thread

I'm 27 and dealing with HBP and sometimes there isn't a cause for it. However, in 2006 I had been sick as a dog for a couple years. Test after test and tons of blood work. Everything always came back normal but I still had that pain in my chest radiating to my back. Finally on my 4th PET Scan (other 3 were normal) They finally realized they weren't seeing abnormalities because I had such a severe gallbladder infection the nuclear dye wasn't even passing into it! I had to have it removed immediately, the surgeon said it was one of the worst he had seen. I'm not saying that's your problem, but its worth a thought! All my tests came back normal for 2 years and it was infected the entire time! Hope you feel better!

5'8, 182lbs, have a lot of muscle mass but have gained some fat in mid section.

Average BP is mid 143/88 at and increases easily with any type of mental stress. My regular doctor always gives me readings of 130/88 but in fearful his cuff may be to big giving a false lower reading.

Encounter some mild dizziness but this can be from persistent sinus infection.
