I was told that after having a hysterectomy my back pain would disappear....but it stlill hasn't. I had a severe case of endometriosis & I was told that hormones cause it. I was wondering if I took cymbalta would it help my lower back pain? Plus I want to know if cymbalta would cause more hormones.
Greetings, When hysterectomy is performed for pain it is always important that the physician explain to the patient that the patient may not have relief of her pain. As high as 70% of patients who undergo hysterectomy for pain reasons do not have resolution of their pain. Please follow up of with your gynecologist to discuss your endometriosis treat options. Hysterectomy alone is not a definitive cure for endometriosis. Endometriosis does improve with menopause. Best wishes!
