Hi Dianne,
First thing I want to say is I'm sending you wishes for comfort and strength...you had asked one question regarding does hrt worsen endo. When I had my hysterectomy I wanted to wait and try to deal without any hormone therapy...oh yes, I had to have total hysterectomy because of endometriosis very advanced and painful and ovaries were a mess etc. So after I had total I opted to try without therapy for awhile...8 months to be exact, it was difficult and then I agreed to go on estrogen. I have been on estrogen for 6 full years and have not had any further problems with growth of endometrial cells in my abdominal cavity. This may be because I had laser surgery to burn away endo tissue one year before I had the total hyster...it's a tough call because it's hard to say how much endometrial tissue has grown outside your uterus in your abdominal cavity on other organs etc. I think this is a very important question. Having been a nurse for many years, I wondered myself in understanding anatomy if my endo would grow back post operatively. I do have a friend that had no problems whatsoever for 15 years post-op. same history as mine and then had to back off estrogen as her doctor found endometrial tissue growing up towards her lungs. With all this being said, my main reason for responding is to provide emotional support, of course I'm not a doctor have limited knowledge and experience, but I do want to let you know that no matter what you choose to do you will have support from women that are going through the same thing...I wish you all the best.

Good morning, hope to be able to offer you some support, I have had endo and I feel your pain 20 years my goodness, thats a really long time to be hurting..along with your other diagnosis, Im certain you must be just fed up with the pain,
The pouch of douglas area infront of the rectum, which can be felt on digital rectal examination.(between the rectum and the uterus). is the bottom most anatomy in this question,,,I dont think techincally its prolapse, scar tissue can cause the strangest things to happen, its very very common for endo uterus's to be adheared to the urinary bladder, infact mine was had to be " peeled off" my ovary was addheared to my bowel, with masses of scar tissue......but back to your question a skilled surgeon should have to make a bit more time for your surgery and maybe he should put a few sutures in to secure bladder in position as a caution the time to do that would certainly be proper during surgery...a bladder prolase is more when the bladder drops..I of corse havent seen you xrays or anything but it just doesnt sound like thats your issue.
hormones are tricky little buggers. how do they make endo grow I dont know but I know that they do , just as hormones make young teens enter puberty etc...Marys an expert on HRT she may be able to answer this better if its important to you.
I am so sorry you have suffered so, and wish you could have the vag repair surgery..any chance at all you could leave the country for this? I have one very very good friend in Austrailia so I understand how the health system works...shes in Perth..what part are you in?
When is your hysterectomy scheduled and are they removing your ovaries? avoid that if you can, Why are they removing your ligaments? many women have damaged ones is there no possibility of repair or physical therapy in your case? just curious,,,anxious to hear your reply....Cherie and btw....welcome to mh your gonna find a lot of help here and lots of very kind people.
