In gyn surgery this happens alot, many women get to the point for different reasons that they bleed more days then they do not, so its just not possible to avoid all gyn surgeries for this reason.

You are gonna be fine, sounds like your pretty smart and can advocate for self, trust those instincts, they are usually right.

Thank you for your response. fingers crossed it wont appear on the day and holds off a little. as long as im not at increased risk because the walls have already thinned , i should be ok. there was no mention of this when date booked so thought initially wouldnt be an issue. no mention on the paperwork either.

Hi, Is your Dr, aware of this ? Id assume they asked you date of LMP? if your regular they would/should have scheduled surgery around your period. The  vaginal walls become more tender and thiner while menses, therefor greater risks of complications, also just in general if your already bleeding , they wil likely cancel, increase risk that if surgery cause more blood loss then anticipated they would be concerned. Also if they wanted to get any specimens/ slides/ biopsys/smears etc...the menses will interfere with that. Surgerys get canceled the day of or the day before all the time. I would advise you to phone dr tell them and hope your a bit late so you can still have the surgery, as in dont cancel till you have to.Good luck
