I am only 37 yrs old also,if that makes any difference.
I'm sorry you're suffering since your salpingo (tube removal) oophorectomy (ovary removal). Since you're only taking estrogen it sounds like your uterus was also removed? If you still have your uterus you should be taking a progestin or progesterone to protect the lining from proliferation that can occur from estrogen.
Your symptoms may be due, at least in part, from not having enough estrogen. Women also lose about 50% of their testosterone when their ovaries are removed. Unfortunately, doctors fail to divulge this important information before surgery!
1mg of estrogen taken orally is a fairly low dose for a woman without ovaries. And some women do not absorb oral estrogen very well. Has your doctor ever checked your blood level of estrogen or estradiol? Some women do better on the estrogen patch or one of the gels. And some find that they need some testosterone to function. I also use estradiol tablets but I insert mine vaginally and it seems to absorb better that way. I only need to do it 3x a week at this point.
Your back and rib cage pain (and possibly leg pain) could be an indication of bone loss which can occur fairly rapidly after the ovaries are removed (or shut down after hysterectomy). But hysterectomy (uterus removal) even when ovaries are not removed destroys pelvic integrity since the ligaments that hold the uterus in place are the support structures for the torso. Cutting those causes a gradual collapse of the spine, a widening of the hips and descent of the rib cage hence back and midsection pain.
I hope you can find something to help you feel and function better!!
I had a hysterectomy done last year and I am also having mid back, torso, throbbing pain that goes down to my hips, legs and there are days I can't even get up to walk. I have been to a few doctors and so far I've only learned I now have arthritis on my back, fatty liver without any further investigation being done to help ease the pain. Which is why I went to see them in the first place. This pain is worst than it was before I had my hysterectomy, but I kept both ovaries. Any suggestions to find a proper diagnosis rather to be left hanging and pooping pills left&bright to ease my pain. Info
